We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team and oversee the financial operations of the company Mid Canada Fasteners & Tools.Position Overview:The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for the location. This role will involve managing the financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with accounting principles, and providing leadership and direction to the finance team. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Corporate Controller to develop and execute financial strategies that support the company’s growth objectives. Expertise in NetSuite and Silk ERP’s is preferred for managing the company’s financial systems and reporting.Key Responsibilities:• Financial Reporting & Analysis:• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.• Become a subject matter expert on inventory within the group• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (ASPE) and internal company policies.Budgeting & Forecasting:• Support the annual budgeting process and prepare financial forecasts.• Collaborate with department heads to monitor and adjust financial plans as necessary.Internal Controls & Compliance:• Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, as well as industry-specific standards.Team Leadership & Development:• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions.Cash Flow Management:• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.• Develop and implement strategies to optimize working capital and improve cash flow.System & Process Improvement:• Lead initiatives to streamline and improve financial processes and systems, utilizing technology to enhance efficiency.• Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with IT or external consultants to implement system upgrades and improvements.Strategic Financial Planning:• Partner with the executive team to develop financial strategies that align with the company’s goals.• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and business expansion.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent).• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in a management role (experience in the fasteners or tools industry is a plus).• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.• Experience in implementing or optimizing ERP’s to support financial processes, reporting, and analysis (would be considered an asset).• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior management.• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business environment.Compensation & Benefits:• Competitive salary based on experience.• Health, dental, and vision insurance.• Retirement savings plan with company match.• Paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay.• Professional development opportunities.The Fastener Group and Mid Canada Fastener & Tools. is an equal opportunity employer.
