Job Description

Role mission:Under the direction of the Head of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, general accounting, taxfilings, and assisting with the monthly closing process.The role also ensures compliance with tax and legal obligations, while delivering accurate and reliable financial statements.Responsabilities :Manage the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, reconciled, andclassified according to accounting standards.Reconcile accounting statements and resolve any discrepancies or payment issues in a timelymanner.Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, and prepare reports to support financialreporting, analysis, and audits.Process payment runs, including preparing payment requests, obtaining necessary approvals,and ensuring timely execution.Support the monthly and annual closing processes by preparing journal entries, performingreconciliations, and conducting variance analysis to ensure financial reports are accurate andtimely.Prepare and record cut-off entries to ensure accurate financial reporting at period-end.Contribute to the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as required,providing accurate and timely financial data.Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and assist with tax filings such as VAT, CITinstalments, Withholding Taxes, CIT filing, and employer yearly declarations.Ensure the proper archiving of all accounting and tax documents, maintaining compliance withlegal and regulatory requirements for document retention.Respond to internal and external audit inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and assistwith any follow-up requests to ensure audit readiness.Maintain accurate and compliant archiving of all accounting and tax documents. Ensureall financial records are retained in accordance with legal requirements and companypolicy.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management,tax compliance, financial reporting, and closing processes.Proficiency in accounting software, ideally working with SAGE X3 or a similar systemStrong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including US GAAP andlocal tax lawsExperience with tax compliance, including VAT, CIT instalments, and other local tax obligations.Experience managing both internal and external audits, responding to audit inquiries, andensuring regulatory complianceProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and WordPersonal characteristics:Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesHigh level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
