This position will report to the Director of Accounting, APAC in Hong Kong. You will work closely with a team of accounting and finance professionals to accurately account for the company’s operations, maintain compliance with accounting policies and provide collaborative cohesion to the organization. Essential Functions & Accountabilities:Oversee the full spectrum of accounting operation, process and activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, treasury, tax compliance and financial reporting in Japan.Work as a part of the APAC Accounting team to help ensure that financial and accounting process and risks in the business are well defined, managed proactively, and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.Responsible for the month-end closing to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and corporate policies and procedures and assist with regulatory filings.Collaborate with FP&A team to provide insights for the financial variances in budget and forecasts.Liaise with internal/ external auditors and tax consultants in relation to statutory audit and tax matters.Work with regional teams to simplify and optimize accounting processes, as well as to strengthen internal controls.Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives.Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and service.QualificationsExperience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:CPA or Chartered AccountantHas proven experience, minimum 8-10 years of experience in an accounting & auditing role with multi-national companiesStrong knowledge of financial reporting standards, accounting principles, practices, and regulations.Good knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (including US GAAP) and auditing standards preferred.Has strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial reporting and accounting processesHas the ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest and implement improvementsPlease share current and expected salary in your application.
