Company DescriptionJob DescriptionPrimary Function Of PositionThe Senior Analyst Logistics Compliance Operations – APAC is responsible for dailyimport and export operations and activities, processes, policies, and procedureswithin the region. He/she will serve as a primary point of contact for internal andexternal inquiries on the import, export, and trade regulations. This individual willwork with the customs brokers and forwarders to ensure compliance with applicablecompany policies and import/ export regulations while ensuring the expeditious flowof goods. This individual will provide trainings to employees involved in theinternational trade.Essential Job Duties Perform import/export activities in compliance with government rules andregulations, organizational policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Manage the daily trade compliance operations for the import/ exporttransactions within the region by working with customs brokers, carriers,forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurately clearanceprocess. Monitor transactions for compliance with applicable export control laws andregulations, sanctions and embargoes, and anti-boycott regulations; authorizeand resolve transaction holds, escalate transaction holds to supervisor forfurther resolution. Respond to and action inquiries from internal and external partners andAgencies Regarding Additional Information Required For Customs Clearance,government agency holds, and requests. Effectively interact and respond to all government inquiries in a factual andtimely manner. Manage deferment accounts or direct account payment process within theregion. Assist in all activities and documentation related to maintaining compliancerequirements for valuation (assists), trade preferential and non-preferential,duty suspension, drawback, and economical customs procedures whereapplicable. Provide support and guidance to internal and external customers for importand export shipments including hand carry and carnet shipments to meetregulatory requirements with the government agencies, i.e. Customs, HealthAuthorities, Agricultural agency, Department of Commerce and other globalcustoms agencies. Shared responsibility for determination of import/ export classification andcountry or origin for imported/ exported products across multiple businessunits, including maintenance of the product database. Manage and audit import/ export recordkeeping completeness and accuracy toensure compliance with the company record retention policy and internationaltrade regulations. Perform pre- or post-entry audits on the shipping documentation and customsdeclaration. Make corrections if required. Responsible for Post Entry SummaryCorrection program. Create and maintain customs brokers / forwarders POA and SOPs. Monitor freight forwarders and customs brokers and evaluate adherence toIntuitive brokerage SOP and metrics. Lead and follow up with documentedcorrective action related to monthly brokerage metrics reports. Maintainbroker and forwarder scorecard. Develop and generate compliance and service provider performance reportsfor management. Interact with IT and Center of Excellence (COE) to streamline and improveimport/ export data for compliance; provide justification, businessrequirements, development, and assist with testing and solutionsimplementation. Assist the U.S. Logistics Compliance analyst in ensuring compliance withCompany’s Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) programand identify opportunities for expansion of the program into the EMEA region. Assist the APAC Logistics Compliance manager in implementing andmaintaining the AEO program. Identify key opportunities for continuous process/ system improvements,implements solutions to eliminate identified compliance deficiencies. Identify and drive import duty savings through identifying opportunities fromFTA, ITA and other customs schemes. Develop, communicate, and maintain import/ export manuals, policies andprocedures, and trade compliance guidelines. Monitor regulation changes, understand enforcement practices, updateprocedures accordingly and communicate as applicable. Participate in cross-functional projects relating to logistics/ trade compliance. Provide training to other functional groups on import and export requirements. Participate in various cost savings initiatives and strategic planning sessions tosupport Intuitive strategic goals and objectives. Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to build awareness andinternal partnerships for Intuitive Logistics Compliance activity. Conduct and report findings of internal risk assessments. Follow-up withCompliance Improvement Plans. Perform other duties, tasks, special projects as assigned. Cost and budget management for import-related expenses, including oversightof the monthly payment process.QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience Direct experience and knowledge of Trade Compliance principles (customsvaluation, incoterms, license and permits, country of origin, HTS/ ECCNclassifications, duty optimization / Free Trade Agreements, export controls andsanctions etc.) Strong knowledge of customs regulations, other government agenciesimporting regulations, EAR & Census Trade requirements. Experience managing Logistics Service Providers and/or ComplianceConsultants. Strong analytical and change management skills, critical thinking, and problemsolving with experience in risk management processes and gap analysis. Strong working experience with databases, enterprise resource planning(ERP), global trade automation solutions. Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to multi-task and minimalguidance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and present effectively andpersuasively at all levels. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence othersthrough demonstrated expertise.
