Job Description
[What the role is]The CDA is a new government agency that is established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore’s communicable diseases preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response.As a Senior/Assistant Director of the Immunisation Policy and Strategy (IPS) Division, you will be contributing to the Division’s objective of minimising morbidity and mortality of vaccine-preventable diseases of public health importance through shaping national immunisation policies and strategies.You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.[What you will be working on]You will be leading a team in the development of evidence-based immunisation recommendations and strategies, and keeping them up-to-date with latest scientific developments. You will drive the review of new and existing vaccines to formulate recommendations at both population and sub-population levels, for both endemic and outbreak diseases. This includes supporting relevant expert committees, keeping abreast of the latest research and regulatory developments relating to vaccines of interest, and updating existing immunisation strategies.In addition, you will also be driving the development of strategies for vaccine-related counter-measures as part of national preparedness and pandemic-related planning. As part of the cross-cutting nature of the work, you will have the opportunity to interact with MOH, healthcare and pharmaceutical industry stakeholders, in the development, design and implementation of these policies and strategies.[What we are looking for]Job responsibilitiesDrive the formulation of immunisation policies and strategies to prevent the spread of vaccine-preventable diseasesKeep the immunisation policies and strategies up-to-dateDrive the development of strategies for vaccine-related counter measures as part of national preparedness and pandemic-related planningJob RequirementsTertiary education in health sciences, or equivalent preferredAt least 5 years of working experience in public health and/or health policy.Prior experience in engaging industry players will be advantageousKnowledge with the local healthcare and public service structures will be advantageousCandidates with vaccinology background are strongly preferredStrong leadership, management and organisational abilities to lead a team, and engage a large variety of stakeholdersForward-thinking, analytical mindsetGood situational awareness regarding global developments in vaccinology, vaccination manufacturing and pandemic preparedness, with the ability to integrate these with research findings to shape policyGood understanding of local and international communicable disease control principlesCommitted to work and willingness to work under pressureAs part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
