Senior Bioprocessing Scientist

An innovative biotech at the forefront of advanced therapies is seeking an experienced Senior Bioprocessing Scientist to support the manufacturing and development of cutting-edge biopharmaceutical products.This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key bioprocessing stages, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute directly to the production of next-generation therapies.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as subject matter expert (SME) for a designated bioprocessing area, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and safety.Lead daily operations and provide guidance to Bioprocessing Scientists and Operators, deputising for the Team Leader when required.Oversee manufacturing activities in compliance with cGMP and data integrity principles.Manage and r esolve quality events (deviations, CAPAs, change controls), driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, QC, Technical Transfer, and Engineering to ensure successful manufacturing execution.Lead risk assessments and implement process improvements to enhance quality, yield, and reliability.Maintain high standards of cleanroom behaviour and GMP documentation.About You5+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or advanced therapies (gene therapy, plasmid DNA, viral vector, or similar).Hands-on expertise across upstream and downstream bioprocessing operations - fermentation, purification, aseptic techniques.Strong understanding of GMP principles and regulatory compliance.Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, with a focus on quality and operational excellence.Skilled in structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.Degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline (advanced degree advantageous).
