This role is central to driving business process improvements, modernizing financial operations, and ensuring the integrity of budgetary and accounting functions within the Federal Financial Management System (FFMS). The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong foundation in federal financial guidelines and a proven ability to translate complex numerical data into actionable insights.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Analysis:Perform complex analysis, tracking, and monitoring of accounting functions within FFMSReclassify expenditures, reconcile financial reports, and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and complianceTrack and analyze the status of funds, monitoring activities related to the expenditure and disbursement of fundsValidate and verify accounting records and system data to maintain data integrityBudgetary Execution & Reporting:Draft and submit documents to justify reprogramming actions and reclassification requests for management approvalAnalyze and consolidate funding requests, verifying cost estimates for consistency against contract exhibitsAssist in certifying undelivered orders and validating accounts for audit responses and agency inquiriesRetrieve financial data and employ statistical methods to create conventional and precedent reports, graphs, and tablesProcess Improvement & Stakeholder Support:Support the development of the business process improvements and modernization projectsDraft modern business methods, identify best practices, and develop performance measurementsCollaborate with government budget officers to resolve agency client account discrepancies and ensure accurate, timely invoicingProvide administrative support by managing documentation from accounting, procurement, vendors, and field offices, determining final status and closureCommunication & Administrative Support:Communicate effectively with various levels of management and operating personnel to support daily operationsPrepare, revise, and finalize a wide range of documents, including reports, statistical analyses, and presentationsComplete special projects as directed by financial and senior-level managementRequired Qualifications & Experience:A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldA minimum of 24 credit hours in finance, quantitative methods, or accounting is requiredAt least four (4) years of progressive experience in federal financial management, including direct hands-on experience with federal financial policies, procedures, regulations, and systems (e.g., FFMS)Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with Word, PowerPoint, and AccessDemonstrated ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to diverse financial tasksCore Competencies:Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify solutionsAbility to clearly and effectively communicate numerical and financial information to both technical and non-technical audiencesMeticulous accuracy in reconciling reports and validating dataAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environmentProficiency in conducting online research to support financial analysisAalis Management Consulting is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
