Senior Business Analyst – Oil & Gas

Join us to apply your skills in a dynamic environment and help drive impactful business outcomes. ResponsibilitiesDefine and document business and functional requirements with thorough traceabilityAnalyze current processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectivenessLead stakeholder workshops and manage communications to align solutions with business needsDevelop and validate acceptance criteria, support user acceptance testing to confirm deliverables meet requirementsServe as subject matter expert for business analysis in strategic initiatives and projectsBalance priorities across multiple tasks and facilitate communication between business and IT teamsTranslate complex business needs into clear user stories and specificationsCreate reports and dashboards using Excel, SQL, and Power BI/Tableau to support decision-makingUtilize Agile and Waterfall methodologies to deliver projects efficientlyFacilitate workshops and walkthroughs to ensure stakeholder engagement and understandingSupport risk management functions by applying knowledge of market and credit risk concepts and reportingCollaborate with technical teams to ensure the integration of business requirements with system capabilitiesMonitor performance of implemented solutions and suggest continuous improvementsMaintain comprehensive documentation for business processes and requirementsPromote knowledge sharing and lead analysis efforts within the team Requirements7 to 9 years of experience in business analysis with a focus on risk domainsIn-depth knowledge of market risk functions, including commodity derivatives and price curve conceptsBackground in credit risk concepts such as LGD, ECL, PD, and PFE and related reporting practicesProficiency in managing requirements, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement techniquesExperience with market risk metrics like value at risk and stress testingStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into clear documentationCapability to lead workshops and facilitate effective stakeholder collaborationFamiliarity with business analysis tools, including Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, JIRA, and ConfluenceUnderstanding of both Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologiesExperience in the oil and gas industry or commodity trading businesses Nice to haveCertifications in business process modeling or change managementExperience with UI/UX design thinking and data visualization techniquesKnowledge of generative AI applications and storytelling in analyticsFamiliarity with ETRM systems such as Endur and AligneUnderstanding of commodity market regulations and trading lifecycle
