Location: Sports Surgery ClinicJob type: PermanentOverview Of RoleWe are hiring a Senior/Cardiac Physiologist on a part time basis to fulfill a key position in our Pre Assessment of work will be 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Candidates must be flexible to provide a Saturday service if required.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:To participate in setting standards and satisfying expectations in the quality of care.To be aware of the role as a professional and to undertake practice within the relevant framework.To ensure strict confidentiality in relation to the patient's records and to facilitate adherence with UMPC SSC policy in relation to the Data Protection Act (1998).To participate in the work practices already established within the Department.To be aware of legislation and amendments governing or affecting Cardiac Physiologists and/or Allied Health Professionals and issues of Health and Safety.Ensure the quality of documentation of reports is in accordance with local service and professional standards.Communicate verbally and / or in writing results, data interpretation and reports to the relevant teamand consultants in accordance with service policy.Participate as part of a multi-disciplinary team as appropriate, communicating and working in cooperation with other team members.To ensure that all reasonable precautions and safeguards are implemented for the provision of a safe work environment for all persons and clients required to be in the Department in accordance with Current Health & Safety at Work legislation.To assume responsibility for their own learning and development needs with evidence ofcommitment to on-going professional development.To exercise initiative and diplomacy when dealing with patient care issues.To keep accurate and complete clients records in accordance with documentation policy.To attend all mandatory training and ensure compliance with hospital policy.To ensure the safe, economical and correct use of all hospital equipment.To report faulty equipment to the relevant Department.To ensure that appropriate stocks levels of consumables are available and that stocks are replenishedTo ensure that accurate reports of any accidents/incidents which may occur are completed.To adhere to the safe custody of patient belongings and valuables as per hospital policy.To be willing to be deployed to other areas suitable to level of competence if/when required.Qualifications & ExperienceQualifications, Experience and Skills required:BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin); orEquivalent relevant scientific qualification (Level 8) as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Science (IICMS) or Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science awarded on or before 2005;orCertificate in Medical Physics and Psychological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology;orCandidates must have a minimum of 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) relevantpost qualification experience as a Cardiac Physiologist;Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitabilityand professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.Ability to conduct all technical aspects of Cardiac Physiology testing.Post Specific RequirementsBe competent in performing and reporting transthoracic echocardiography.
