We’re looking for a skilled Senior Cost Estimator to assist in preparing estimates – from feasibility study to construction – for Life Sciences projects in our Puerto Rico office location. You’ll review design documents, proposals, specifications, drawings, attend design development meetings and make sites visits to define the scope of work and cost impacts required of the estimate process.You’ll be a key contributor and mentor to a knowledgeable and supportive team as you prepare estimates by developing project work breakdown structures, calculating complete scope of work take-offs, assist contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors, apply construction means and methods, calculate indirect field costs. Design teams will also collaborate with you on the quality and amount of input necessary to develop the required level of estimate. You’ll tap into both your creative and analytical sides in this role as you develop reports and presentations as well as analyze historical data.Bring your expertise in estimating large-scale projects and your desire to share your knowledge with others, and we’ll help you pursue what drives you – so we can tackle challenging environmental projects, together.Some responsibilities Plan, organize and direct the activities of the Estimating Department. Recruit, train and supervise employees in the department. Conduct employee performance reviews. Review the preparation of all estimates. Mentor junior staff Develop methods for maintaining current and historical construction cost data. Obtain relevant craft productivity, wage rates and construction in-directs. Maintain a database of estimating information.Here's what you'll need Bachelor’s degree Engineering or Construction Management or other, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree At least 20 years of estimating experience Proficiency in estimating any phase of a project from Feasibility Study through construction Ability to interact with architects, engineers, clients and operations staff to ensure a clear understanding of a project. Facilitate presenting costs to the client and reconciling with previous estimates Demonstrated understanding of estimating organizational structure and process, including quantity takeoff, crew development, productivity relationships, material quotations, contingency/risk, knowledge of markup structures and estimate documentation. Proficient skills with current technology (Word, Excel, estimating software)Ideally you’ll have Master’s degree in Construction Management, or Engineering Life Sciences related experience., #Bio/Pharma, #EPCMV, #globallifescienceOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you and in the things you care about.
