Job DescriptionAs part of the Customer Operations Data Insights and Analytics team within Business Operations, the Senior Data Analyst partners with business leaders, IT teams, and fellow analysts to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive business decisions.ResponsibilitiesBusiness Requirements: Captures and prioritizes business requirements across projects based on impact; defines clear analysis plans and ensures adherence to standard policies and processes when delivering data solutions. Data Analysis: Applies data analysis and visualization techniques to uncover insights, guide strategic decisions, and identify optimization opportunities. Conducts analysis, experimentation, and visualization; responds to ad-hoc business requests to evaluate opportunities and answer key questions. Data Prep: Performs advanced data extraction, manipulation, transformation, and data management to support AI/ML and other business needs. Fully documents and maintains a library of source code and algorithms for future use. Business Data SME: Serves as a subject matter expert on business data; partners with Data COE and Technology teams to improve data quality, definitions, and consistency. Establishes scalable, efficient, and automated processes for analytical data workflows. Communication: Presents insights and recommendations to stakeholders, clearly communicating findings to support data-driven and evidence-based decision-making. Qualifications4+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree (Computer Science preferred). Strong planning, prioritization, and workstream management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Advanced SQL and data warehouse skills, including writing complex queries on large datasets. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent. Experience manipulating datasets using programming languages (Python preferred), with familiarity in ETL concepts and tools (preferably Matillion). Proven ability to build strong working relationships across cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience facilitating discovery sessions with functional stakeholders to clarify requirements and expected outcomes. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and present comfortably to all levels of management. A self-starter and problem solver who adapts well in fast-paced, dynamic environments; strong customer service orientation, and ability to break down complex problems into actionable data-driven components. Base Pay InformationThe national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications.
