Senior Data Engineer🏫: PPC Romania👥: DIGITAL SOLUTIONS📍: Bucharest📝: Unlimited period #YourCareer starts with doing what you like 😊We are always looking for talented and motivated colleagues to join our team and together, contribute to the creation of a sustainable future, based on inclusion, empathy, respect and equal opportunities.The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures to support business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning models, ensuring scalable and efficient data processing, integration, and storage solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize data workflows and enhance decision-making capabilities.Together with us, you have the chance to grow everyday, contributing to energy transition, being responsible of:Collaborating with machine learning engineers, analysts, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of data across platforms.Engaging with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translating business requirements into scalable and efficient data solutions.Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment between engineering and business teams.Implementing efficient data processing solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability.Optimizing data storage, retrieval, and ETL processes to ensure data availability and integrity.Leading the design and development of cloud-based data solutions.Maintaining version control and collaborating using GitLab to manage code and deployment pipelines.Developing and optimizing SQL queries and integrating data from a variety of sources into central repositories (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses).Automating and streamlining data pipeline processes with shell scripting and other relevant tools.Providing mentorship to junior data engineers, guiding them through technical challenges and helping them grow in their roles.Leading code reviews and ensuring best practices are followed across the engineering team.What you’ll need to succeed: Bachelor degree in STEM subjects4+ years in Data Engineer role or similar role with proven track record of providing large-scale data solutionsStrong experience in SQL, including complex queries.Strong programming experience with Python for data engineering tasks, including building custom data processing solutions and automation.In-depth experience with Apache Spark and Apache Kafka for distributed data processing and batch processing;Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow for orchestration of data flows.Solid experience in AWS (or another Cloud provider),Proficiency in using GitLab for version control and CI/CD processes.Hands-on experience Docker and Kubernetes for containerization.Experience with DBT for data transformation.Experience in Shell scripting (e.g. Bash).Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.Ability to mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.Nice to haveExperience with at least one other programming language Java, ScalaPrevious experience with Apache Hive, Flink, BeamUnderstand data governance, security best practices, and compliance regulations.Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts.What’s in it for you:✔️ Professional growth/ Developmentopportunities for professional and personal developmentdynamic work environment and different business linesinternational work environmentinternal mobility programscourses, coaching sessions, mentoring💸 Rewardsmedical subscription/medical insurancemeal vouchers, bonuses (Energetician's Day, Easter, Christmas, etc.)13th salaryreimbursement of part of the holiday ticketextra free days (Birthday, Energetician's Day, etc.)special offers from our collaboratorsreferral employee programBookster💻Way of workinghybrid way of working (office & smartworking)short FridayWhat else do you need to know?Confidentiality of the recruitment processAt PPC, we respect the confidentiality of each application.
