If so, let’s talk!Your Role And ResponsibilitiesThe role is responsible for designing, implementing and managing Linux-based data serving solutions. This position is typically involved in new and innovative solutions to enable our customers to meet performance, cost, security and sustainability and hybrid cloud goals.Primary DutiesSet up and configure internal and external database instances (Oracle, DB2 UDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)Create database solution assets and provide technical enablement to customers through webinars, briefings, and proof of technology hands on labs/classesWork on Proof of Technologies (POTs) to compare LinuxONE to customers’ existing or future technologies and troubleshoot performance/technical problemsEnable and help customers adopt IBM LinuxONE data serving solutions (e.g. compression, quantum safe encryption, security, and AI)Set up and administer container-based data serving solutions and Linux infrastructure in a Hybrid cloud environment Design, create, and maintain automation scripts, workflows, and infrastructure on Linux systems for customer-facing productsPreferred EducationMaster's DegreeRequired Technical And Professional ExpertiseExperience in setup and configuration of database instances (e.g. Oracle, DB2 UDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) Experience in database performance, high availability, backup and recovery, monitoring and security conceptExperience in Linux operating systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, SUSE) and infrastructure projects Excellent problem solver and debugging skillsProficiency in scripting languages such as Linux shell’s, Python and Bash for infrastructure automation and applications.Proven effective communication and presentation skills, teamwork Highly self-motivated and resourceful, Aptitude to learn and apply knowledge quicklyFluent in EnglishReadiness to work in US Eastern time zones upon needPreferred Technical And Professional ExperienceAbility to design and conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs), Proof of Technologies (POTs)Ability to present technical presentations to technical leaders and executivesExperience in integration with 3rd party platforms/solution through REST APIs Experience with Docker and KubernetesPractical experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), monitoring tools (Instana, Grafana, Prometheus) and virtualization technologies (e.g. z/VM, KVM, OpenStack)Working knowledge of IBM Z and LinuxONE
