With a proven record in structured trading, compliance credit generation, and carbon reduction strategies, the business is expanding its footprint into Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) origination and distribution across North America.The company manages a diverse portfolio spanning LCFS, CFS, and RTC credits, working closely with utilities, industrial buyers, and corporate partners to accelerate decarbonization and support global energy transition initiatives.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Director-level leader to spearhead the development of the company’s U.S. RNG origination and trading business. This is a unique opportunity to build a new commercial vertical from the ground up, focused on securing supply, structuring offtake agreements, and developing new distribution channels for domestic and export markets.The role will begin as an individual contributor, with full autonomy to originate deals, cultivate partnerships, and shape market strategy. Over time, the position will scale into a leadership function responsible for expanding the team and evolving the business into a full trading platform.Key ResponsibilitiesLead origination, negotiation, and execution of RNG offtake and supply agreements with U.S. producers, utilities, and industrial offtakersIdentify and structure opportunities in compliance and voluntary markets, including LCFS, RIN, and emerging credit systemsDevelop commercial pathways for U.S. RNG export into Asian and European markets through LNG and other low-carbon channelsCollaborate with internal carbon and trading divisions to optimize integrated green gas and credit trading strategiesBuild and manage key relationships with producers, marketers, brokers, and corporate buyers across the renewable fuels landscapeTrack evolving market dynamics, regulatory changes, and pricing trends to inform business strategy and portfolio growthEstablish commercial frameworks, risk management processes, and deal structures that align with global business objectivesQualifications10 years of experience in RNG, natural gas, environmental commodities, or energy tradingProven success in originating and closing structured energy or environmental credit transactionsDeep understanding of RNG market fundamentals, project economics, and offtake structuresStrong negotiation and relationship-management skills, with a focus on long-term partnershipsEntrepreneurial mindset, capable of operating autonomously in a lean, fast-paced environmentExperience engaging with compliance programs (RFS, LCFS, CFS) and/or voluntary carbon markets preferredBachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience desirableIdeal Candidate ProfileThis role suits a commercially driven professional with both the strategic acumen and hands-on approach to launch and scale a new market vertical.
