Job Description

Continuous Applicant Pool - Various locationsOur Senior Forest Rangers work extensively with clients, stakeholders, and other agencies, using their initiative, problem solving skills and technology to deliver operational programs and acceptable outcomes. Staff are guided by a range of policies and procedures, codes of conduct and legislative obligations...The key duties in this role includes keeping track of permittees and their contractor performance against the sales permit and co-ordinating daily operations such as lessee engagements, measuring cut logs, log measurer accreditations, assessing tree selection and other relevant operational activities.A typical week includes but is not limited to the following activities. In consultation with team members and supervisors, you are required to plan the weekly activities in preparation for the following week You are to prepare relevant documents and electronic information including maps for required tasks Undertake safety preparation including completing the weekly itinerary, vehicle pre-start inspections and prepare required safety equipment Travel by 4WD to planned forest operations areas which can involve up to more than four hours of driving Setup camp including unload heavy equipment from the 4WD Undertake safety preparation including completing the weekly itinerary, vehicle pre-start inspections and prepare required safety equipment Our Senior Forest Rangers must be capable of walking long distances on uneven terrain in Queensland's challenging weather conditions, carrying up to 10kg of essential equipment. Some camping in basic conditions may also be required at times, sometimes located up to 6 hours away from the nearest township.Our office locations are geographically dispersed throughout Queensland based in key townships to support the timber resource areas.
