It is how we work, consistently, be it towards the company, our colleagues or our customers.Job DescriptionThe Senior Fraud Detection Officer is responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities across UOB (Thai) products and services. This role involves advanced analytical skills, proactive monitoring, and collaborative efforts to mitigate financial crime risks.Job Responsibilities:Conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious transactions, accounts, and customer activities, utilizing various fraud detection tools and data analysis techniques.Develop, implement, and refine fraud detection rules, models, and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of our fraud prevention systems.Monitor transaction patterns and customer behavior for anomalies and indicators of potential fraud, ensuring timely intervention and resolution.Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including risk management, compliance, legal, and business units, to share insights, escalate issues, and contribute to overall fraud risk mitigation.Prepare detailed investigation reports, document findings, and recommend appropriate actions, including account restrictions, recovery efforts, and reporting to relevant authorities.Stay abreast of emerging fraud trends, typologies, and regulatory changes, and proactively adapt detection methods and controls to counter evolving threats.Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to process improvements to prevent recurrence of similar fraudulent activities.Provide training and guidance to junior team members on fraud detection techniques and best practices.Assist in responding to inquiries from law enforcement agencies and other external parties regarding fraud cases.Job Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in fraud detection, financial crime investigation, or risk management within the banking or financial services industry.Proven experience with fraud detection systems and tools (e.g., FICO Falcon, Actimize, SAS Fraud Management).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify suspicious patterns.Excellent understanding of various fraud schemes, including but not limited to credit card fraud, identity theft, account takeover, and online banking fraud.Familiarity with relevant local and international anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-financial crime (AFC) regulations and best practices.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Thai and English.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.Certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent are a plus.Remark: The Bank requires the checking and collection of criminal records for candidates of this position in order to verify qualifications and/or disqualifications for the job position in accordance with the Bank’s policy.Additional RequirementsBe a Part of the UOB FamilyUOB is an equal opportunity employer.
