JOB ADVERTISEMENTSENIOR GROWER SOLANACEAEWe are a Floriculture Company that deals with cuttings, located in Naivasha and seeking to fill a position that has risen in our organization.We are looking for a dedicated senior grower Solanaceae (Petunia, Calibrachoa) to join our dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:1.     Crop Management1)    Irrigation and fertigation steering.2)    Climate steering: climate control activities planning and execution.3)    Plant protection management: scouting, beneficial organisms release scheduling and controlling. Spray programming and controlling. 4)    PGR programming and controlling.  5)    Plan, implement, and monitor crop productivity schedules in line with production targets. 2.     Production Planning and Control1)    Collaborate with the company planner to develop the planting and uprooting schedules. 2)    Control plants productivity counting. 3.      People Management and Development1)    Guide, teach and delegate to colleagues under his/her supervision to achieve responsibilities.  4.     Quality Assurance1)    Maintaining high hygiene level of the facility in compliance with KEPHIS definitions for Solanaceae (Petunia, Calibrachoa) mother stock production, and in co-operation with the company compliance office.2)     Work closely with Post-Harvest and Quality Control teams to align field quality with requirements.5.     Resource and Cost Management1)    Procurement planning for the facility needs. 7. Key Competencies1)    Strong leadership, team management, communication and reporting skills.2)    Assertive and communicative approach.3)    IPM knowledge and experience.4)    Climate steering experience in GH production environment. 5)    Irrigation computer operation experience and knowledge.6)    Previous leadership position which includes training colleagues, delegating work to colleagues and building capacity in subordinates to ensure smooth growing operationQualifications:·        Diploma or degree in Horticulture Field.·        At least 5 years of experience in a leadership position in horticulture.  Deliver by Email to: hr@kentalya.com with subject application- senior grower Solanaceae or hand-deliver complete application with all relevant credentials in a sealed envelope addressed to Recruitment -Kentalya PLC.
