The position reports to the Head of EngineeringJob OverviewWe are looking for a highly-skilled and detail-oriented Senior or Lead QA Engineer to join our growing retail IT team at TIME. You will be a leader in quality, responsible for designing, developing, and executing our end-to-end testing strategy to ensure the reliability and security of our platform.The ideal candidate is a strong advocate for "shift-left" testing, an expert in test automation, and possesses a deep understanding of how to test modern, complex systems. You will be a key technical mentor for the team, owning the QA process, driving automation efforts, and ensuring that quality is embedded in every stage of our Agile development lifecycle.Your work life:Test Strategy & Planning: Lead the design and development of comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test cases for new and existing features, from functional to non-functional (performance, security) testing.Test Automation: Architect, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automated test frameworks for our UI and our backend APIs.Quality Advocacy: Champion quality practices across the engineering team. Work closely with developers and product owners in Scrum ceremonies to refine acceptance criteria and ensure testability is built in from the start.Execution & Analysis: Perform and coordinate complex manual and automated testing (integration, regression, end-to-end) to identify, log, and track defects. Own root cause analysis for critical bugs and production escapes.Non-Functional Testing: Define, execute, and report on performance, load, and security testing for our services and APIs.Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers (and developers) on testing best practices, automation techniques, and effective bug reporting.Process Improvement: Analyze bug trends and other quality metrics to drive continuous improvement in our testing and development processes.CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into our CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines) to ensure rapid and reliable feedback.To be considered, you’ll need:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience: 3-5+ years of proven experience in Quality Assurance, with demonstrable experience in a senior role focused on test automation and strategy.Experience (QA Lead): 5-8+ years of experience, with at least 2+ years in a formal leadership role managing a QA team and owning a QA strategy.Additional Responsibilities for the QA Lead Role:Team Leadership & Management: Formally lead and mentor the QA team. Manage team schedules, assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of high performance and continuous learning.Strategy Ownership: Own and define the entire quality assurance strategy for the department, aligning it with engineering and business goals.Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all things quality. Report on QA metrics, risks, and strategies to engineering leadership and product managers.Technical Skills:Testing: Strong knowledge of all testing types (functional, integration, regression, performance, security, usability).Frameworks: Deep experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for both API testing (e.g., Postman, REST-assured, or custom Go/Python scripts) and UI testing (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium).Tools: Expert-level knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, Xray, Zephyr).Methodology: Deep understanding of QA processes and best practices within an Agile/Scrum environment.Soft Skills:Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for quality.Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with a talent for root cause analysis.Excellent communication and mentorship skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly.A strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive initiatives independently.Our Commitment to You At Time, we believe great work deserves great support.
