Conceptual Modelling and especially its focus on ontological analysis of knowledge is a research area that contributes to this by developing methods and tools for eliciting business requirements and designing information system solutions. Research in Conceptual Modelling with a focus on ontologies deals with theories, methods, and tools for knowledge capture, representation, and analysis to create requirements specification as well as organisational and system designs. Conceptual Modelling is a core of many fruitful areas of research and technological development such as system analysis, design, and enterprise architecture, and capability management. Conceptual Modelling and especially ontology analysis, is a research area that contributes to many areas that require formality in knowledge representation.Main responsibilitiesMain duties are teaching, course development, course responsibility, supervision, and research in Conceptual Modelling. Examples of content in the courses are OO system analysis and design, model-based system development, IT in organisations as well as database design.The applicant is expected to strengthen courses theoretical foundation and practical relevance.The following aspects are expected from the applicant:Be actively engaged in research and develop a clear line of research through independent research projects.Actively contribute to education at all levels.Supervise doctoral and master's students.Apply for external research funding.Participate in faculty and university-wide commitments.Engage in international collaborations at a high academic level.Collaborate with other research groups, both within and outside the university.The position includes research time according to the local working time agreement for senior lecturers.Qualification requirementsEligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer should hold a Ph.D. or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise.The applicant must possess English language skills at a professional level.The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.Assessment criteriaSpecial and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching, supervision, and research skills within the area of Conceptual Modelling, ontological analysis of knowledge and models, enterprise modelling, and model-driven development based on enterprise and system models, including process and conceptual models.Teaching proficiency should normally be demonstrated through teaching experience at both the undergraduate and master’s levels. Teaching proficiency should be well documented in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers.Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.Emphasis will also be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.It is a merit to have documented knowledge of teaching and supervision in Swedish.About The EmploymentThis position (in Swedish, “universitetslektor”) is full-time, indefinite-term employment.
