The Bank has the highest possible credit rating, AAA/Aaa, from leading credit rating agencies.The Legal Department’s Treasury Legal Unit is looking for a (Senior) Legal Counsel on a two-year fixed-term contract.Key responsibilities: Draft, negotiate, and review treasury transaction documentation, including bond transactions, derivatives contract and confirmations as well as funding program updatesSupport and develop automated post-trade documentation processes, legal templates and standard clausesLead and participate in projects to digitalize, automate and streamline working processesProvide legal advice on treasury law mattersHandle other legal and administrative tasks as requiredThe ideal candidate should:Have a Master of Laws degreeHave minimum 2-4 years (Legal Counsel) or minimum 10 years (Senior Legal Counsel) of relevant work experience in finance and capital markets law gained at a law firm, in the banking sector, at a financial institution, or as in-house counselDemonstrate an understanding of the ISDA framework, including the Master Agreement and standardized derivatives documentation (considered a strong asset)Have knowledge of financial markets regulation relevant for NIBHave strong IT-skills (e.g. Word, Teams, Copilot, SharePoint), be a quick learner of new digital tools, and have a keen interest in digitizing and automating tasksBe fluent in spoken and written English with the ability to draft and negotiate legal documents in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language and/or Finnish is desirableHave strong communication skills, both verbal and writtenHave ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressureHave attention to detail, be solution-oriented and diligentIn addition we value:Strong interpersonal skills supporting colleagues, anticipating needs, contributing to problem-solving and process improvements and driving shared goalsHigh integrity and a collaborative approach within the teamA proactive approach and the ability to meet deadlinesWe offer you:A two-year contract with start of employment in January 2026A multicultural working environment with a high level of professionalismAn exciting opportunity to develop your professional skills, and gain insights into the work of an international financial institution (IFI).
