Join us in revolutionizing transportation and creating a smarter, more sustainable world—one innovation at a time.Join our visionary team and help shape the future of mobility!Job Purpose:The Senior Manager of the Transport Operations Control Centre (TOCC) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the control centre, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of transport services across the land, marine and air network. This role involves leading a team of operations controllers, managing performance metrics, and ensuring that all transport operations comply with relevant safety standards, regulatory requirements, and customer service expectations. The Senior Manager will also play a critical role in improving operational efficiency through the implementation of new technologies, processes, and strategic initiativesJob ResponsibilitiesOperations Management:Lead and manage the Transport Operations Control Centre team, ensuring that operational objectives and KPIs are met.Monitor and control real-time transport operations, including traffic flow, scheduling, and incident management, across multiple modes of transportation (e.g., road, rail, air).Coordinate the response to operational disruptions, ensuring effective crisis management and communication with stakeholders.Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of operational performance, incidents, and issues.Team Leadership & Development:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of control center staff to ensure high levels of performance and professionalism.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration within the control center.Provide training, support, and performance feedback to the team, ensuring staff are equipped to handle the operational challenges.Stakeholder Communication:Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including transport providers, regulatory bodies, and senior management.Maintain effective communication with other departments such as customer service, planning, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.Manage communications during incidents, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely updates are provided to affected parties.Compliance & Safety:Ensure all operations adhere to relevant safety regulations and operational protocols.Lead investigations into operational incidents or safety breaches and develop action plans to prevent reoccurrence.Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices, ensuring the control centre operates in compliance with all relevant laws and standards.Continuous Improvement & Innovation:Identify opportunities for operational improvements, including process optimization, resource allocation, and technology integration.Lead the implementation of new technologies and systems to improve operational efficiency, performance tracking, and decision-making.Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and performance enhancements.Performance Reporting & Analysis:Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of operational data, identifying trends, risks, and areas for improvement.Develop and present regular reports on control center performance, including KPIs, incident reports, and operational efficiency metrics.Safety, Quality & Environment Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.Conduct regular audits and safety drills to maintain readiness and operational excellence.Work with management to ensure that control center staff are aware of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.Qualification and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in transport operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a control center or similar operations environment.Proven track record of managing teams, improving operational performance, and implementing strategic initiatives.Experience with transport management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology platformsSkillsStrong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop teams.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.Advanced problem-solving skills, particularly in a high-pressure environment.Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities.Knowledge of relevant transport industry regulations and safety standards.Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain focus in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
