Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Manager Sales (Commercial Lines) to join Maduro & Curiel’s Insurance Services N.V. (MCIS) in Curaçao. In this role, you will be responsible for the sales of Commercial General Insurances as well as retail and commercial Life Insurances across the Dutch Caribbean. You will lead teams through guidance, strategy definition, and mentorship to acquire new potential customers and grow the insurance portfolio.Key Responsibilities & Core AccountabilitiesIn this role, you will be a key player in our MCIS department. Your primary responsibilities will be to:Strategic Leadership & Business Planning: You will design and implement a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence. This includes developing a comprehensive business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls while advising the Managing Director on the strategic direction and operational success of the company.Sales Force Excellence & Mentorship: Beyond managing, you will recruit, train, and inspire sales representatives to achieve high performance. You will set individual sales targets, monitor performance, and meet weekly with subordinates to resolve bottlenecks and provide technical advice on complicated insurance issues.Market Expansion & Retention: You will identify new business opportunities through market research and maintain a well-established retention policy to ensure existing customers receive dedicated attention. You will stay abreast of insurance market trends and innovations to ensure MCIS provides the high-quality service expected from a leading broker.High-Level Stakeholder Management: As a member of the Management Team, you will participate in weekly meetings and advise on financial objectives and major investments. You will represent the insurance division when reporting to Senior Management of the Bank and maintain professional relationships with international brokers and insurance companies.Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will ensure cross-departmental sales by working closely with other units to meet all customer insurance needs. You will also advise the Claims and Administration sections on service improvements and difficult claims handling.Qualifications & SkillsWe are looking for a dedicated professional who brings the following:Must-Haves:Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in the insurance business or similar relevant insurance services in a senior position.Education: At least a Bachelor’s degree in commercial management, business administration, or equivalent work and think level.Leadership: Proven experience in planning and implementing sales strategies and leading a sales team.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Papiamentu, Dutch, English, and Spanish.Technical Proficiency: Strong PC skills and intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.Nice-to-Haves:A Master's degree is a plus.Assurantie B-, WFT-, or equivalent certification/diploma.Knowledge of the insurance system ANVA.Why join MCB Group?A strategic role with real ownership and impactExposure across countries, partners, and senior leadershipOpportunity to shape the future of insurance sales and customer experienceA collaborative, performance-driven environment where innovation is encouraged
