Job Description

The Senior Manager of Strategy, Partnerships, and Positioning plays a critical role in supporting the development and execution of a sustainability strategy that aligns with the organization’s business objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge of the UAE and GCC markets, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the organization’s positioning in the market. The individual will support the development of key disclosures, including sustainability reporting, and contribute to regulatory and industry submissions. Success in this role requires a dynamic and influential professional with a proven track record in driving sustainable initiatives with a strong understanding of sustainability trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices, ensuring the organization is well positioned as an industry leader in corporate sustainability.Strategic Planning:Supporting key strategic objectives and initiatives aimed at driving operational and business improvements, enhancing external ESG ratings, and strengthening the bank’s market positioning.Support the integration if sustainability KPIs across business verticals, providing guidance and support to drive accountability and measurable impact.Lead efforts to enhance the bank’s sustainability transformation by aligning processes, systems, and strategies with global best practices and regulatory expectations.Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of potential strategic partners while fostering strong relationships with existing partners to enhance collaboration and impact.Develop and execute impactful partnerships and initiatives that drive the bank’s sustainability strategy and enhance DIB’s credibility as a sustainable financial institution. Act as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders to advance the bank’s sustainability strategy, facilitating cross-functional engagement and alignment.Identify, implement, coordinate, and support key disclosures, memberships, and industry associations that enhance the bank’s positioning and credibility in the sustainability space.Stakeholder Engagement:Act as a key liaison between internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration and progress on sustainability initiatives.Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment and commitment to sustainability, engagement, and partnership goals.Support internal business functions by providing guidance and insights on relevant memberships, associations, and sustainability-related activities to enhance engagement and strategic alignment.Stay updated on emerging trends in ESG regulations, climate and other ESG risks, and leading ESG practices.Collaborate with external partners, industry experts, and research institutions to leverage external knowledge, insights, and resources that enhance the bank’s sustainability positioning.Lead and coordinate key memberships and associations, ensuring active participation in industry networks that strengthen the bank’s market influence and ESG leadership.Alignment and reporting:Support the integration of ESG data into year-end sustainability reporting and disclosures.Compile and manage sustainability reporting, external reporting, and regulatory submissions.Oversee ESG-related reporting for regulatory bodies, industry memberships, and associations.Prepare responses to sustainability questionnaires and rating agency assessments while developing and maintaining relationships with key rating agencies.Support internal data collection, validation, and management to ensure reporting accuracy.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance data quality and streamline reporting processes.Align business processes and operations with key ESG commitments, disclosures, and international best practices.Ensure sustainability reporting frameworks comply with evolving regulatory and industry standards.Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with internal teams to integrate ESG data into sustainability reporting and disclosures.Collaborate with business verticals to ensure accurate and consistent ESG reporting.Support business in aligning operations with ESG commitments, disclosures, and best practices.Engage with internal stakeholders to streamline data collection and improve reporting processes.Coordinate with external partners, industry associations, and regulatory bodies on ESG-related reporting requirements.Metrics and Reporting:Support the integration of sustainability KPIs across business verticals, enabling data-driven decision-making and accountability.Coordinate and support the compilation of key disclosures, including sustainability reports, ESG ratings submissions, and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and transparency.Analyze sustainability performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement in the bank’s sustainability strategy.Monitor and report on the impact of sustainability initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to enhance performance and market positioning.Ensure consistency in sustainability data management, working closely with internal teams to improve data collection, verification, and reporting processes.Change Management:Stay updated on emerging trends in ESG regulations, climate risks, and sustainable investment practices.Create and implement change management strategies to facilitate a smooth transition through various phases of transformation.Provide guidance and support to teams to adapt to new processes, systems, and organizational structures.All the above accountabilities include but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line managerEducationBachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Economics or Business Administration preferably combined with Sustainable Finance or Sustainability).Master's degree or relevant certifications in the above fields are preferred.Work ExperienceMinimum of 8 years’ experience, 3-5 years in a management role focused on driving and implementing sustainability strategy through collaborative internal and external initiatives preferably in the UAE and GCC.
