London Bridge Hospital, London Liver CentreFull-Time 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday, hours to work around Consultant Clinics which may finish at 7pm, required to be on-site for clinics. Working from home available post probation (2-3 days per week, depending on the needs of the practice) Permanent We’re looking for a Senior Medical Secretary to join our Secretarial team based at The London Liver Centre based in London Bridge Hospital.As a Senior Medical Secretary you’ll be responsible for ensuring the continued provision of the highest quality of secretarial and administrative support. Duties will include providing full secretarial support to our consultants. You will ensure the appropriate management of patient appointments, liaising with patients and hospital staff as required in order to facilitate this. You will also undertake any other duties as called upon to carry out by the Practice Manager.Above all else, we’re committed to the care and improvement of human life. You’ll be part of a wider team with a unique sense of purpose, one that helps improve lives on a daily basis.What You’ll DoProvide full secretarial support to the Consultant (including audio-typing of clinical/non-clinical material, reports etc.)Responsible for the appropriate management of patient appointments, liaising with patients and hospital staff as required in order to facilitate thisReceive new patient referrals and arrange relevant appointments across various hospital departmentsRegister new patients and ensure that all patient records are kept up to dateRespond to all written and verbal queries from patients and relatives, escalating to the consultants if requiredUndertake any other duties as called upon to carry out by the Medical Secretary Manager, Deputy Medical Secretary Manager or SupervisorLiaise with consultants and other secretaries to ensure the smooth running of the Out-Patients ClinicsWhat You’ll BringGood audio typing is essential.Substantial previous Medical Secretarial experience is essential.Significant understanding of Medical terminology.Liver experience would be preferable.
