Join our family and build an inspired career you’re proud of.Job ContextThe Senior Merchandiser (knit / Woven) - Workwear holds the accountability for managing the customer accounts from product development and sampling stage till shipment and payment realization, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Job ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage research and product development, understand latest fashion trends, and develop customer specific collectionsEnsure smooth communications with customers and suppliers on day-to-day merchandising activities and approvalsUnderstand customer requirements and closely work with design team to manage the correct samples within timelines and qualitySet priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activitiesAccomplish and oversee the merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / T&As / QA file making / Production follow ups / Shipment booking etc.)Engage in costing and price negotiation with customers and vendors and prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factoriesEnsure all suppliers are using nominated sources for trimsProvide monthly intelligence report to the business on actual and potential rises and falls in current cost factorsCoordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnelMaintain Time and Action (T&A) plan and ensure on-time shipment for all ordersSelect and visit different fabric/textile mills, production, printing, washing factories and build long-term relationships for current and future ordersRegularly evaluate factory performance and source and develop new factories as per requirementsRecommend any changes to the products or process improvements, which can help make production friendlier for construction without changing the aesthetics of the garmentConduct production meetings with the factories and QA team as per the allocated time and follow up with the factories on the progress of the ordersAnalyze customer progress report in terms of growth/shortcomings/product and price points, get customer feedback on inquiries and close the orders with clarity on cost/ marginReview new tech packs and developments to identify any critical points and provide the right details to the factoryEnsure all customer requirements are met in production based on customer tech packsUnderstand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organizationEducational RequirementsBachelor of Science (BSc)Graduate in Textile Manufacturing or Apparel Merchandising from a well reputed institutionExperience RequirementsAt least 8 year(s)The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):Textile,Buying HouseAdditional RequirementsStrong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a teamShould be well-groomed, smart, and energeticStrong presentation and delivery skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfectionExcellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and EnglishProficient in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficientlyAbility to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlinesExperience RequirementsAt least 8 years merchandising experience preferably in a reputed buying office in Knit / Woven- Workwear categoryMust have extensive experience of product development, sourcing of materials, costing, production tracking and execution of small/large volume orders, and various styles orders independently.Must be knowledgeable of garments construction and costing, specifically Knit / Woven- Workwear fabric properties, fabric printing, and surface applications (e.g., heat transfer, embroideries, screen-printing)Female candidates are encouraged to applyTechnical Job RequirementsProfound knowledge of Workwear garment engineering and production processes is required.Have sound knowledge of fabrics and an excellent network of fabric, print, embroidery & trims suppliers.Should have excellent understanding of technical / production process.Should have a passion for product development, an eye for styles/details and fits.Should be able to handle MIS entries.Must be capable of handling buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude.Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures.Good understanding of core business aspectsShould have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and delivery.
