Senior Network Engineer (Level 3 Support)Contract roleRole SummaryThe Senior Network Engineer will provide day-to-day operational support for the organization’s global data network infrastructure. This role serves as the Level 3 escalation point for complex network incidents and is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise LAN/WAN environments. The engineer will ensure network reliability, performance, and security while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and customers.Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Design & ImplementationDesign, develop, and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure.Configure and install network devices and services including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.Implement operational and project-related network changes in coordination with project teams.Network Operations & SupportProvide Level 3 troubleshooting and support for all LAN/WAN alerts and incidents.Identify and resolve network issues quickly to minimize downtime.Monitor network performance to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal operation.Perform system upgrades, patches, service packs, and security updates.Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.Monitoring & MaintenanceMaintain monitoring and reporting systems.Track resource utilization, performance trends, and capacity planning.Ensure compliance with configuration and change management policies.Security & ComplianceImplement network security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the security team.Configure and troubleshoot network security solutions including VPNs, AAA, and firewalls.Documentation & CollaborationCreate and maintain documentation for network systems and infrastructure.Work closely with vendors, internal IT teams, and offshore teams to resolve issues.Participate in change management and incident management meetings.Provide regular status updates and administrative reporting.Required ExperienceMinimum 10 years of networking experience.CCNP certification required.Experience supporting large enterprise or global network environments.Technical SkillsNetworking & TroubleshootingAdvanced network troubleshooting and root cause analysis.Troubleshooting routing loops, asymmetric routing, and STP loop issues.Experience analyzing network performance metrics and device outputs.Routing & SwitchingRouting protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGPLAN switching: VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannelQoS configurationWAN TechnologiesMPLS, Metro EthernetWAN acceleration and optimization technologiesNetwork SecurityCisco ASA, IPSIPSec / SSL VPNAAA, TACACS+, RADIUSNext-generation firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet)Wireless & Remote AccessCisco ISEWireless networksCisco AnyConnectInfrastructure & HardwareCisco Catalyst and Nexus 7K / 9K switchesCisco routers (3900 / 4400 series)Cisco IOS configuration and troubleshootingApplication & Protocol SupportTCP/IP protocol suiteApplication protocols: HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSLApplication environments such as SAP, Citrix, and enterprise portalsModern Networking & CloudSD-WAN technologies (Silver Peak, VeloCloud)Network segmentation solutions (TrustSec, Tetration, Illumio)Cloud networking experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred)Cloud security services such as Zscaler and Cisco Umbrella
