Senior/Process Engineer

Purpose of the Position: Manage CMs to achieve Corning engineering goal for Camera Cover Lens, Smart Watch, Notebook products & innovation projects activities in SEA region for Gorilla Glass Solution businessProcess engineering leadership to solve technical and manufacturing problemsSatisfaction of key project objectives (safety, quality/performance, schedule, spending)Support China Plus one strategy for new CM qualification, innovation project support, process capability development, production ramp, etc. Day to Day Responsibilities: Develop a working understanding of key GGS manufacturing processes (including coating, cutting, decoration, surface treatments, etc.)Process engineering leadership to solve technical/manufacturing problemsFacilitate new process and product qualification.Manage CMs product yield and driving continually improvement to achieve yield, manufacturing cost best in classWork with cross functions and CMs to improve shopfloor management, such as conduct routine Process Control Process Discipline audit, support customer onsite audit etc.Initiate the joining project in CM side to achieve engineering goal on yield, performance excellence and capability advantageFacilitate meetings to document key manufacturing issues, action items and decisions. Effectively communicate to team members based on organizational goals and company policyDefine and successfully execute projects that support overall business objectives such as process yield, part quality, and production outputDevelop project handover requirements with internal customers/stakeholders and facilitate project handovers.Effectively communicate to stakeholders and management goals, objectives, status, and overall performance of projects and activitiesProject involved with:Camera Cover Lens, Smart Watch, Notebook Engineering/performance excellenceGGS innovation project Required Education & Experiences: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing related discipline (Mechanical/Chemical/Material Science, etc.), Master of Science a plus≥ 5 years of experience with a variety of roles in development, engineering, or operations. Work experience in Cover Glass coating/finishing, Consumer Electronic manufacturing or Semiconductor manufacturing roles (engineer, supervisor, etc.) in Vietnam or other parts of Asia Proven track record in successfully delivering projects involving technologies, new product/process transfer to high volume manufacturing, and significant financial or strategic impact to the business. Required Skills: Strong spoken and written language capability in Vietnamese and EnglishOptical or decoration Coating process develop, maintain and improvePrior supervisory/functional management experienceGood communication skill with both supplier and customer. Teamwork with cross functions. Demonstrated expertise in process engineering and use of structured problem-solving skills (i.e. Experiment design, SPC, DMAIC, etc.) Process quality control and improvement experienceAbility to contribute to the development of fundamental understanding for new products/processes, new principles, and new conceptsAbility to effectively manage self and programs from remote/virtual locations as requiredAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (operators up to Sr. Management), Contract Manufacturers, and external CustomersPresentation and reporting skillsDesired Skills: Good at Korean/Chinese or be familiar with communication with Korean companies or Chinese-speaking stakeholders. Ability to work across geographic and cultural boundaries, and experience leading large, multi-national engineering project teamsFlexibility to adapt to dynamic environment and embrace change, Time management and handle multiple tasks effectivelyProject Management knowledgeTravel Requirements: >50% travel possible depending on project(s) assigned
