After securing our 30 million USD total in funding, you have the opportunity to be a disruptor early on in this exciting journey.Your Responsibilities On This RoleDesign & Own Key Product AreasTake design ownership of major product features from discovery through launch, shaping experiences that procurement teams will use dailyDesign the future of AI-powered procurement: create intuitive interfaces for agentic AI features that can negotiate contracts, analyze supplier data, and automate complex workflows while keeping humans in the loopTackle uniquely complex design challenges: multi-stakeholder complexity, supplier collaboration, AI transparency and trust, and data-heavy interfaces that need to be powerful yet approachableDrive Design ExcellenceDefine and uphold quality standards and principles that make our product stand out in the crowded enterprise software landscapeBuild and evolve our design system, creating components and patterns that scale across an increasingly complex productBalance craft with velocity - know when to sweat the details and when to ship and iterateConnect Design to RealityConduct user research with buyers and suppliers to deeply understand their daily frustrations and needsTurn insights into actionable design opportunities, always connecting your work back to real user problemsCollaborate tightly with product managers and engineers to ensure your designs are implemented with fidelity - and contribute to making them even better during developmentShape the Design CultureEstablish lean, effective processes that support rapid iteration without sacrificing qualityMentor teammates on design thinking and elevate the overall craft across the companyBe a vocal advocate for users and push back when technical or business constraints threaten the experienceRequiredRole requirements5+ years of product design experience in B2B SaaS, enterprise software, or similar complex product environmentsProven ability to simplify complex, multi-step workflows into intuitive experiencesStrong proficiency with design systems - you've either built one or contributed significantly to oneExceptional visual design skills with high attention to interaction design, typography, and information hierarchyExperience collaborating closely with engineers and product managers in agile, fast-paced environmentsFluency in both UX and UI - you're comfortable with user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect mockups (we use Figma)Fluency in English, bonus points for GermanValid work permit for GermanyWhat Sets You ApartYou're excited about designing for AI and understand the unique challenges of making autonomous agents feel trustworthy, transparent, and controllableYou've designed for B2B or enterprise contexts where users have diverse needs and technical proficiency levelsYou're comfortable with ambiguity and can structure design problems that don't have obvious solutionsYou know that shipping good work beats perfecting work that never launchesYou validate your ideas with users and data, not just intuition or design trendsYou're opinionated about good design but humble enough to be wrong and change courseYou stay curious about emerging design patterns, tools, and the industries you're designing forWhy to join us here at Mercanis?
