Job Description
Position SummaryThe Senior Project Manager plays a critical leadership role within the consulting organization, serving as the primary liaison among internal teams (Consulting, Account Management, and Operations), customer stakeholders, and approved third-party partners.This role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex, time-sensitive consulting engagements across the region—ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with company quality standards and best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the central point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring seamless coordination between internal and customer teams.Apply Project Management Institute (PMI) principles to plan, execute, and control project activities from initiation to closure.Develop, maintain, and track project and migration plans, ensuring timely delivery of documentation, reports, and milestones.Manage end-to-end project delivery including architecture design, engineering, change control, and operations acceptance.Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.Lead and coordinate technical and non-technical teams—across multiple time zones—according to the agreed project plan.Ensure consistent communication through meeting minutes, executive summaries, and stakeholder updates.Foster collaboration with internal departments and subsidiaries to align on deliverables, dependencies, and customer objectives.Oversee global deployments involving network, infrastructure, and/or security solutions.Required QualificationsExperience25+ years in the IT industry.15+ years in project management, including large-scale, multi-site, or international engagements.Proven experience delivering global network and security projects, preferably within telecom or enterprise infrastructure.Demonstrated success managing large cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent projects.Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and customer-facing communication skills.Creative problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.Excellent documentation and presentation abilities.Ability to manage ambiguity and operate independently in dynamic environments.Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Native (or native-like) Japanese proficiency and business-level English required.Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.Preferred QualificationsITIL Foundation certification.Experience with Unified Communications, Managed Services, and/or Mobility solutions.Familiarity with security frameworks, policies, and best practices.Experience managing large transformation programs with multiple project streams.Background in program management and executive reporting (dashboards, automated reporting tools).Working ConditionsAbility to work across multiple time zones and under tight deadlines.Occasional travel may be required.Must be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a matrixed, global environment.
