Senior Sourcing Manager (P-4833)

As the Senior Sourcing Manager you will lead supplier assessment, development and sourcing initiatives for precision machining and plastic molding commodities. Using your strong analytical, technical and negotiation skills (along with your experience in managing suppliers in precision machining and plastic manufacturing processes) you will build sourcing strategies, develop supplier relationships, drive cost improvements and ensure a resilient supply base to support business growth.What You’ll Be DoingSupplier Assessment & DevelopmentIdentify, assess and qualify new suppliers for precision machining and plastic molding partsConduct supplier capability audits, quality system reviews and capacity evaluationsDevelop and implement supplier improvement plans to enhance performance, quality and cost competitivenessStrategic Sourcing & Supplier ManagementBuild and execute category sourcing strategies aligned with business objectivesLead supplier selection and onboarding processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, operations, finance)Develop strong supplier relationships to foster long-term collaboration and innovationCost Management & AnalysisPerform should-cost analysis for precision machining and plastic commoditiesDrive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, process optimization and negotiationIdentify and implement opportunities for total cost of ownership (TCO) savingsManage on clear to build situationCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with R&D and NPI engineering teams on design-for-manufacturability and supplier involvement in early product developmentCollaborate with quality teams to ensure suppliers meet quality standards and compliance requirementsWork with operations and planning to ensure supply continuity and risk mitigationMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)Demonstrable strategic sourcing experience in instruments manufacturing within Life Sciences, Biotech or Medical DevicesExtensive New Product Implementation (NPI) experience Effective communicator with ability to influence at all levels Strong business acumen and comfortable to make effective decisions in ambiguity Hands-on ability to perform analysis on large amount of data to drive insights and decisionsComprehensive knowledge on contract commercial terms and ability to lead supply agreement negotiations independentlyAbility to operate in a fast-paced environment and juggle shifting priorities and tight timelinesPreferred SkillsEngineering degreeFamiliarity with both large plastic injection and small precision moldingAbout 10x GenomicsAt 10x Genomics, accelerating our understanding of biology is more than a mission for us.
