As we build our presence in Africa, we are seeking a dynamic Senior Specialist - Brand Communications, Africa, to lead storytelling and cultural engagement initiatives across Africa that redefine the intersection of music, sport, and lifestyle to reach new audiences in Africa and the diaspora and redefine the intersection of culture and movement. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of different African cultures, the African diaspora, a passion for brand storytelling, and expertise in fostering authentic relationships with talent and influencers.Your missionIdentify and connect different cultural and performance elements that will enhance athlete, influencer and media visibility in Africa and the diaspora.Implement our storytelling strategy by working with cross-functional teams to identify and curate inspiring stories that align with the brand’s vision and mission, reflecting African culture, sports heritage, and the stories of local communities.Identify, evaluate, and engage with local and global talent, including athletes, cultural influencers, artists, and community leaders, to represent the brand authentically.Collaborate with the Athlete Strategy and Partnership team to design culturally relevant athlete onboarding.Collaborate with talent to produce content highlighting their unique stories and the brand’s mission, reinforcing brand visibility in culturally meaningful ways.Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of cultural and community events that showcase the brand’s commitment to African culture, engage local audiences, and align events with global seasonal campaigns and initiatives.Work closely with regional and global marketing, PR, and social media teams to ensure cohesive brand messaging and optimised use of digital and media channels.Provide insights and recommendations on culturally relevant content, local trends, and emerging talent that enhance brand authenticity and engagement.Conduct research on cultural trends, audience preferences, and competitive activities within the African market, providing actionable insights to enhance brand communication strategies.Analyse the performance of content and events, tracking engagement metrics and community feedback to refine strategies and maximise impact.Stay informed of cultural and social issues, ensuring brand communications remain relevant, respectful, and impactful.Your storyYou have 5+ years of experience in brand communications, public relations, or cultural event management, preferably within the sportswear, fashion, or lifestyle industries.You have proven experience working with talent, influencers, and community figures, with a strong network in the African cultural scene.You have a strong track record of using deep expertise in Africa’s cultural and local market dynamics to create brand communications that connect with audiences across the continent and diaspora.You are skilled in project management, event coordination, and storytelling, with an eye for visual and narrative detail.You can create, coordinate, and execute compelling stories and events that resonate with diverse audiences.Your communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills are exceptional.You can analyse content performance and event impact, using data to inform strategy improvements.Travel is required, approximately 40% of the time to key markets (Kenya, South Africa, and Nigeria to start).What We OfferOn is a place that is centered around growth and progress.
