Our specialized solutions are rooted in culture and tested in data science to give our partners the confidence to act.Example challenges we’ve worked on recently include:Growing fandom for K-Content in LatAm.Understanding the impact of Ozempic on the future of snacking.Defining go-to-market strategies for emerging protein sources, like cell-cultivated meat and insects.Emerging preferences of Japanese Gen Z travelers.AMERICAS: NORTH AMERICA (USA, CANADA) & LATAMAs a Senior Strategist, you will need to be a builder, working closely with the team to deepen relationships with Americas-based clients and grow the New York office.Day to day, the role will be anchored in project delivery, growing client partnerships, and building team culture. You will have a hand in boldly stretching our technical and creative outputs to ensure that Synthesis thinking, workflows, and technology are ahead of the curve, differentiated from the competition, and delivering strongly to the region's sharpest insights and marketing professionals.YOUR CORE FOCUSCommercial data-driven storytelling: You will craft persuasive, memorable data-driven narratives and insights, distilling learning across projects focused on trends, foresight, innovation, audience understanding, brand positioning, and more. You will have a knack for digging into client problem statements to understand the root cause of their questions and identify appropriate routes to interrogate. The success of your work will hinge on your ability to persuasively communicate findings and recommendations in clear, compelling narratives, influencing the next steps of senior stakeholders.Act as a trusted advisor for world-leading clients, serving as the day-to-day lead and decision-maker. Your role will require you to deeply understand our client’s business, run projects end-to-end, and have a ‘nose’ for what’s next through forward-looking insights and innovation that will be most useful and inspiring for their growth strategy. You will help grow a deeper partnership with key partners like PepsiCo, Heineken, and Amazon.Business development: Working with the leadership team, you will be crucial in establishing and growing client partnerships with existing and new clients. This means writing proposals, pitching, helping design approaches for new and existing clients, and brainstorming cross-sell ideas to grow clients across the business.Building a business unit. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of data scientists and strategists, you will oversee multiple projects, ensure efficient resourcing and high-quality output, and influence staffing decisions. This includes leading commercial knowledge transfer from our clients to the Synthesis team, keeping ahead of the curve on innovation and trends approaches, and leveraging these to improve Synthesis's proprietary data tools.WORKING HEREWe are a diverse team, we value creativity, ‘plussing’, and teamwork. You are excited about the prospect of joining an early-stage team in New York for an international startup. You have experience working at an agency in growth mode.Confident with clients. You have experience working with Marketing, Innovation & Business Strategy teams for clients like Netflix, Amazon, Spotify, PepsiCo, MARS, and Diageo. You are adept at listening and asking good questions to unpack clients’ needs. You understand when flexing the proposition or a methodology to align with a new organization is appropriate.Nose for insights. You have a track record of connecting sharp consumer insights to tangible business opportunities and effectively cascading and embedding that work with your partner organizations.Human + data. You have an unwavering focus on the human behind the data and a passion for looking at data in a new light. Is Google Search analysis about keyword volumes, or is it about drivers of curiosity and needs? We are looking for candidates who default to the latter.Strategic thinker, meticulous executor. You can lead a tight research project, including confidently leading analysis, elevating the quality of thinking and output, and overseeing project management for multiple projects simultaneously.Multidisciplinary team player. Experience working with a team of Data Scientists, Statisticians, or Engineers is an advantage. You’ll need to ensure the balance between scale and analytical complexity, and clarity, explainability, and storytelling power.
