Job Description
The IT Technician will be responsible for providing hands-on technical support and project implementation Services across client environments. This includes server upgrades and migrations, Windows deployments, firewall installation and troubleshooting, and general onsite IT support. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of SMB IT environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform server installations, upgrades, and migrations (Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware).Deploy and configure Windows 10/11 systems, including imaging, domain joins, and user profile migrations.Install, configure, and troubleshoot firewalls (Meraki, FortiGate, or similar).Execute network upgrades — switching, Wi-Fi, and cabling validation.Provide onsite support for critical issues and escalations from the service desk.Document all changes, configurations, and project work in ticketing/documentation systems.Collaborate with the remote NOC/SOC team to identify and remediate security or network performance issues.Maintain and ensure client infrastructure aligns with company standards and best practices.Qualifications3–5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support or field service.Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Office 365 administration.Experience with firewall platforms (Fortinet, Meraki, SonicWall, etc.).Understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, subnets, routing).Familiarity with backup solutions (Veeam, Datto, etc.) considered an asset.Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as required.Preferred CertificationsCompTIA Network+ / Security+Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure AdministratorFortinet NSE 4 / Cisco CCNA
