This role will lead and assist the team and department with technology decisions, long-term architectural design, system compliance solutions, and participate in or lead project teams that implement system technologies. You will actively participate in inter/intra team collaboration and deliver relevant technology presentations and business cases to appropriate governance and leadership boards.This role ensures the system design and requirements are aligned to achieve the desired business outcomes, and that team practices and coding/quality principles are aligned to achieve the desired technology outcomes. You will mentor others on system engineering best practices, techniques, review and develop plans for hardening system standards, and lead automation efforts for systems engineering deployments. This position is a lead for others by exemplifying technical excellence, inclusiveness, teamwork, and customer focus.More Specifically, You WillPerform triage and troubleshooting of server-related issuesManage platforms by resolving incidents and fulfilling change requests related to server technologiesAssist with the deployment and automation of server architecture and management of systems including: UCS Blade Server virtualization, Domain Controllers, Purestorage, NetApp storage, NSX virtual networking, Rubrik backup, CommVault backup, Prometheus, Grafana, Automox, and TerraformPerform a variety of engineering tasks around system design, implementation, integration, and optimization within a technology environmentUtilize systems expertise and knowledge of software, hardware, networks, and storage to work across the business with architecture, product development, systems administration, DBAs, and engineering to support business needs and end-to-end technical solutionsUtilize JIRA service management platform for work intake, fulfillment, and CAB updatesLeverage industry best practices to support, assess, test, and implement new and existing multi-tier solutions in multiple sites and data centersCreate, maintain, and archive low-level design documents and detailed engineering specifications based upon business and user requirements, including high availability design diagrams, scalability design diagrams, capacity models, logical and physical network diagrams, storage layout diagrams, and disaster recovery documentationWrite and revise operations documentation, including providing required input into operations and internal troubleshooting guidelinesLead automation efforts to standardize deployments using best practicesParticipate in server design walkthroughs and planningWhat We Need From You5-10 years' experience working in an IT environment5+ years' experience in server design and virtualization5+ years' experience with storage and backup solutionsFamiliarity with development of SaaS applications and n-tier architecturesAbility in advanced troubleshooting and design tasks related to highly complex enterprise architectureExpertise in managing server, storage, network, and backup solutionsStrong understanding of computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilitiesExceptional analytical and problem-solving abilitiesUnderstanding of networking concepts including routing, firewalling, ACLs, and NSX virtual deploymentsHighly responsible, motivated team player with the ability to set and manage priorities judiciouslyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with expert attention to detailAbility to produce clean, concise diagrams and documentationAbility to comprehend and communicate complex conceptsMinimal travel required to Sovos locations or eventsDue to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hireWhat Does Sovos Offer You?The tools to enhance your life - because we want you to enjoy your life outside of work and inside!Health InsuranceLife InsurancePersonal Accidents InsuranceMeal AllowanceContinuing opportunities for further Learning & DevelopmentA chance to work with talented and passionate people in a rewarding and values-driven environment!Sovos is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an environment that celebrates diversity and where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees.
