About The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join our Radar division. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the integration, testing, fault finding, repair, and verification of complex electronic systems and sub-assemblies within the Radar, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), and Datalink domains. This role requires strong problem-solving capabilities, the ability to work within high-pressure production and engineering environments, and a commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a similar qualification.Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) certification will be advantageous.Minimum 6 years relevant experience; 8 years preferred, ideally in a pressured production or military/defence engineering environment.Experience working within Radar / IFF / Datalink domains is highly advantageous.Sound understanding of Radio Frequency (RF), Microwave, and high-voltage products.Competent in component-level repair of electronic equipment.Experience with:RF measurement techniquesOscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, multimeters, and electronic instrumentationEnvironmental testing (hot/cold/ambient)Understanding of MIL-spec standards advantageous.Key Technical Skills:Strong electronics knowledge including circuit diagrams, electronic components and diagnostic principles.Good understanding of RF and Microwave systems.Ability to read, interpret and implement wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.Proven fault-finding ability at component and system level for both electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies.Skilled in the use of instrumentation for testing and debugging.Knowledge of MS Office Suite, SAP, and Visio.Understanding of laboratory and workshop safety procedures.Familiarity with product lifecycle, build history documentation, and traceability requirements.Key Responsibilities: Preparation of Kits Receive and inspect kits from Stores for completeness. Action deviations timeously. Integration Integrate systems and sub-systems. Complete Build History Documents (BHDs). Ensure routing cards and documentation are accurate. Testing of Systems & Sub-Assemblies Perform acceptance tests per Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) requirements. Complete environmental testing where required. Verify hardware against Build History documentation. Escalate test failures and assist in root-cause analysis. System Fault Finding & Repair Identify faulty Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). Perform repairs per documented procedures. Provide evaluation documentation to Quality Control (QC). Inspection, Quality Control & Assurance Inspect assemblies as per specifications. Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) and Engineering to address quality defects. Apply correct workmanship standards. Product Repairs (Log Support) Conduct product support and repairs in and out of warranty. Follow documented repair processes. Product Verification & Testing (Qualification) Perform product validation testing including regression testing. Record test results accurately. Prepare and present factory acceptance tests.
