Position: Senior Vice President, Strategic CommunicationsLocation: Hybrid – Working from WWF-Canada’s office in Toronto or OttawaDivision: Strategic CommunicationsTeams: MarketingCommunicationsPosition Type: Permanent, Full-TimeReporting to: President/CEOStarting Salary Range: $170,000 to $190,000 annually (commensurate upon related skills and experience)Position DescriptionThe Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications is a visionary and strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing WWF-Canada’s national marketing and communications strategy. This role leads a unified, creative, and evidence-informed approach to storytelling, engagement, and outreach that introduces Canadians to, and keeps them connected with, Regenerate Canada, our bold strategy to restore habitat and build climate resilience.As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the SVP, Strategic Communications drives public awareness, deepens emotional connection, and inspires meaningful action. This multi-dimensional leader ensures brand consistency, elevates supporter experience, and fosters collaboration across Conservation, Development, and People, Culture, and Technology divisions to deliver a seamless journey from awareness to stewardship.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies that grow awareness, engagement, and support for WWF-Canada’s mission and Regenerate Canada.Champion a unified brand voice that is authentic, authoritative, and adaptable across all platforms and audiences.In consultation with the Conservation division, oversee creative campaigns and content that builds emotional connection and inspires curiosity, trust, and action, from national campaigns to audience-specific storytelling.Drive audience acquisition through evidence-based insights, segmentation, and personalized engagement strategies.Ensure alignment of communication and marketing efforts with organizational priorities such as privacy, cybersecurity, responsible AI use, budget, return on investment, fundraising and administration ratio, and strategic plan.Lead external communications, media relations, and reputation management to amplify WWF-Canada’s impact and influence.Collaborate with Development (in particular, Community Giving and Legacy Giving teams), Conservation, and People Culture and Technology (specifically the Donor Relations team) divisions to support donor acquisition, stewardship, and program visibility.Optimize digital platforms and tools to deliver seamless, compelling supporter experiences.Establish and uphold brand standards across the organization.Foster and mentor a high-performing, creative, and agile communication and marketing team by cultivating talent, strengthening collaboration, and enabling continuous growth.What We Are Looking ForMinimum 15 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, including 8–10 years in senior leadership roles.Proven success in leading brand strategy, digital marketing, and public engagement in complex, mission-driven environments.Strong understanding of audience insights, data analytics, and emerging media platforms.Keen eye to measure and optimize return on investment, campaign performance, and audience impact.Experience in media relations, reputation management, and crisis communications.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and influence strategic direction.Exceptional solutions-oriented leadership, team building, and talent development skills.Identify and align with WWF’s core values: Courage, Integrity, Respect, and Collaboration.Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.Other InformationThis is a hybrid-role based in either Ottawa or Toronto with regular (approximately once a month) travel to Toronto expected.How to Apply If you are interested in applying for this exciting opportunity, please click , and ensure that your application is received on or before November 23, 2025 at 5pm EST.Commitment to Diversity and Accessibility Our vision is a Canada with abundant wildlife where nature and people thrive and we value and rely on diversity of thought, knowledge, expertise, and lived experience to help bring our vision to life.
