Position Title: Part Time Adult Ed Student and Administrative Support (12-18 hours a week whenclasses are scheduled) (possible summer hours depending on grant funding)Location: Kittery Adult and Community Education/Traip AcademyReports to: Linda Greer, Director of Kittery Adult EducationApplication Deadline: Open until filledJob DescriptionPart-time opening for an administrative role to support staff and the students enrolled in high schooldiploma, workforce certifications, college preparatory and enrichment classes. Qualifications: Experienced office administration skills to organize and record class and studentinformation. Some college or certification experience is preferred to proctor tests. Experience withencouraging students to support program completion is important.
Understanding and demonstrating anability to engage with non-traditional and/or adult learners in support of teachers in small multi-levelclass environments. Maine Department of Education fingerprinting certificate eligibility. citizenship,residency or work visa is also required. ResponsibilitiesSupport advisor, teachers and staff with paper and computer materials to register, test, anddistribute class materials. Facilitate entry of students, teachers and visitors providing information and direction to classes toincluding Zoom and Googlemeet hosting and administeringIncorporate adult and non-traditional learning principles into all communication including letters,email and WEB correspondence. Proctor testing sessions with advisor and teachers which will require taking proctor certificationonline learning.
Create a learner-centered, positive teaching and learning environment. Answer phones, take messages, utilize “Reach My Teach” software and call students aboutclasses. Record keeping and data entry to support learner progress, attendance and completion. Maintain, complete and submit academic and enrichment student information in Active,Mainstars, Google classroom, Ed2Go and other support systems. Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development activities. May include support at remote locations in the Kittery community.
