Come be part of something great!About the jobWe’re looking for a proactive and experienced Site Manager to take charge of daily operations and drive projects to success, safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. A natural problem-solver who takes ownership, gets things done, and inspires others to do the same.In this role, you’ll play a key part in coordinating on-site activities, managing contractors and resources, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. You’ll help create a site culture where teamwork, safety, and quality come first and where people take pride in getting the job done right.Key Responsibilities Site ManagementEnsure sites are 100% ready for subcontractors, with required materials and samples on hand.Receive, check, and inventory deliveries against dockets for quantity and quality.Hold weekly team meetings to set targets aligned with labour schedules and the program.Lead on-site Health & Safety by maintaining safety boards, conducting inductions/toolbox talks, and reporting incidents.Read and interpret all plans, engineering specs, and updates; manage document control.Prepare materials and instructions ahead of time; communicate tasks clearly, using sketches and feedback where needed.Prioritise site tasks in line with project deadlines and milestones.Conduct QA inspections, manage defect rectification, and organise labour as needed.Raise and track Purchase Orders (POs) as requested or needed to ensure they are completed accurately and in full, following the appropriate approval process.Perform minor take-offs and ensure material supply aligns with the programme.Book and manage building inspections.Support for Project ManagersAlign with Project Managers on daily/weekly priorities, tools, and resource needs.Provide basic material quantities, update on-site progress, and raise any H&S or resourcing issues.Communicate with council inspectors, consultants, and subtrades.Attend and participate in weekly meetings with Project Managers to track progress and action items.Site Security & HousekeepingLock and secure the site and properties daily.Keep the site tidy; store materials in designated areas; maintain fences and scaffolding safety.Manage plan/document storage; arrange skip bin deliveries/removals as needed.Health & SafetyComplete weekly site updates, inspections, and toolbox meetings via Acuite.Attend monthly H&S meetings; ensure compliance with all company safety policies.Supervise and coordinate teams and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices.Implement corrective/preventative actions and maintain safety documentation.Contribute to and apply Health & Safety Plans, including hazard management and risk assessments.Ensure staff are trained, competent, and resourced to work safely.Induct all workers if no H&S Manager is present.Report and participate in incident investigations; communicate lessons learned across projects.Monitor compliance with safety plans and regulations through regular inspections.Skills & ExperienceFirst Aid Certification. New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4)Hilti Powder Actuated Tool License. 5-6 years Industry-related experience. Clear understanding of how to read plans and interpretation of details. Competent to use power tools and hand tools. Managing people and relationships.
