Job PurposeWe are seeking a highly motivated, technically oriented Mechanical Engineer to engage in the design and manufacture of magnetic levitation bearings, incorporating high-speed digital control systems. You will provide engineering support for design, prototype assembly and validation testing of mechatronic systems, and serial manufacturing.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign of industrial equipment using CREO to create detailed solid models and drawings for fabrication of components and final assembliesDesign of components taking into account material properties, stress analysis, tolerancing, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturabilityCost reduction activities, and optimization of designs and manufacturing processesDetermination of root cause of field failures of complex electromechanical systems, and implementing corrective and preventative actionsCreation of Failure Modes and Effects AnalysesProject management of improvement initiatives, completion of design conformance assessments, and technical risk managementMaintenance of technical documentation, drawings and proceduresTechnical report writing to document the results of testing, validation and troubleshooting activitiesPotential for remote and on-site assistance of customers (some travel may be required)Management of multiple concurrent projects and improvement initiatives including project schedules, and creation of cost estimatesRequirementsEntrepreneurial spirit; self-motivated and willing to learnDegree in Mechanical EngineeringRegistration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA, or are able to apply for registration with APEGA using an Inter-Provincial Mobility Application is an assetUp to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment including product design and development of manufacturing processes for electromechanical products, and working within an ISO quality systemExperience with troubleshooting and root cause analysisAbility to assemble what you design; this position requires excellent design skills and the ability to work with what you have builtExperience in Mechatronics and Control Systems is an assetExperience with the design of magnetic circuits is an assetExperience with Python, C#, VBA is an assetAble to work under pressure to meet deadlinesAbility to manage time across multiple projectsWhat You’ll Love About SKFRest and Relaxation.
