Qualifications required for a Social Care Worker:A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; ORA relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; ANDProof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care WorkerOR proof of application in progress with CORU. Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker:Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care SectorUnderstanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autismProven ability to work on own initiativeProven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’sPlaces the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activitiesDelivers support according to the person’s PCP and care planFluent English and excellent communication skillsFull, clean drivers licence (manual) essentialWho the people we support would like support from:We are looking for a Social Care Worker who can:Learn about me: what I need and what is important to meAdapt their communication style to suit my needs.
