The Role:As a Nine Mile Software Engineer – Exchange Connectivity, you will have the opportunity to work at the heart of our trading systems. Responsibilities of this role will include: Build and maintain low-latency connections to global trading venues, covering both order gateways and market data feeds Manage and coordinate connectivity with a variety of FIX brokers, managing the projects from inception to delivery Manage exchange upgrade projects Monitor and analyse exchange-facing components, suggest and implement optimizations for the best trading outcomes Work flexibly with a focus on real-time issues as well as long-term projects Performance tuning, maximizing throughput, and minimizing latency What you will bring: Development in either Java or C++ A scripting language, preferably Python Experience working in a high-frequency trading firmExperience working in both Windows and Linux environments  Solid understanding of network protocols Excellent written and verbal communication skills A genuine interest in financial markets Strong academic record in a computer science degreeExperience with some or all of the following.
