Your job in a nutshellAs a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, validation, and maintenance of software solutions that support the development of advanced molecular diagnostic assays at SkylineDx. This includes software developed as part of In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) assays as well as IT systems supporting operations in office and laboratory environments.Working as part of the SkylineDx Development Team, you will collaborate with scientists, engineers, and external partners to help translate scientific innovations into reliable software solutions that support disease diagnosis, prognosis, and drug response prediction, ultimately contributing to improved patient care.This role also provides support for office and lab IT activities, helping to maintain a robust and secure IT infrastructure for business operationsTogether we ensure the validation and implementation of clinically relevant scientific discoveries into reliable medical diagnostic assays for diagnosis, prognosis and drug effectiveness prediction that will ultimately contribute to improved patient care. You will work from our Rotterdam office (hybrid work model) and report to the Director of Product Development.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the design, development, and validation of software for SkylineDx assays and internal systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.Participate in software architecture design, implementation, verification, and documentation activities in line with applicable quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304).Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop secure and scalable software and IT solutions.Support IT-related activities, including system maintenance and cybersecurity initiatives.Stay informed about new technologies, tools, and regulatory developments relevant to software and medical devices.Support continuous improvement of software development and IT processes within the organization.You have:  a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 2-5 years of experience in software development and deployment in a Quality -controlled environmentexperience with software testing and validation processes.experience with C#, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Dependency Injection (DI).experience with REST APIs, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework such as React or Angular.experience with unit testing, issue tracking, and code review.a good understanding of IT systems and technologies, including Windows, Linux, SQL, and communication protocols.familiarity with relevant IT and Medical Device standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 13485, IEC 62304, GAMP5) is an advantage.experience with VMware and a LIMS (like LabGuru) is a plus.familiarity with or willingness to learn MVVM (Model View ViewModel) development with WPF; Git or similar source control system; GitLab for version control hosting, issue tracking, and build automation.proficient English communication skills (written and spoken).strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesgood organizational and communication skills.the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.a high attention to detail and commitment to quality.a proactive mindset and are eager to learn new technologies and standards.a team-oriented and collaborative mindset.We offera full-time position, a market competitive salary and market competitive secondary conditions of employment.a hybrid work model.opportunities for personal growth.the best of two worlds: a career in life sciences at an innovative biotech company with the emphasis on clinical diagnostics in close collaboration with an academic environment.the ability to serve society with science-based solutionsAt SkylineDxWe live to make a difference.
