Robeauté is redefining the future of neurosurgery with self-propelled microrobots designed to navigate the human brain with unprecedented precision. Our technology makes it possible to reach deep brain regions that were previously inaccessible, without invasive surgery.We've developed microrobots capable of travelling inside the brain to collect biopsies, deliver cancer drugs, and implant electrodes for neurological treatments.Since our founding in 2017, we've filed 50+ patents and successfully tested our technology in living animals, with human clinical trials targeted for 2026. We recently raised €27M in Series A funding from Plural, Cherry Ventures, Kindred Ventures, and Brainlab, fueling our next phase of growth.Now, as we scale, we are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead and actively contribute to the development of robust, compliant, and innovative software solutions that power our microrobotic systems.What You'll DoArchitecture, Development & Product RoadmapActively contribute to the design, coding, and testing of software components across the stack (embedded, backend, frontend)Define and maintain the software architecture, ensuring scalability, modularity, and robustnessLead the development of features aligned with product milestones and clinical requirementsCollaborate closely with hardware, systems, and product teams to ensure seamless software-hardware integrationSet up and maintain IT infrastructure (servers, cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines) to support development and deploymentStay up to date with emerging technologies in robotics, software engineering, and medical devices to inform product strategyRegulationEnsure all software development complies with medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 62304), in close collaboration with QA/RAImplement and oversee static code analysis, unit testing, and documentation practices to meet regulatory requirementsContribute to the preparation of technical documentation for audits, certifications, and regulatory submissionsPromote a culture of quality, traceability, and engineering discipline across the software lifecycleTeam Leadership (Team of 4 Engineers)Manage and mentor a team of 4 software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance cultureLead sprint planning, code reviews, and technical workshops, ensuring engineering excellenceParticipate in recruitment, onboarding, and career development of team membersSupport individual growth through regular feedback, goal setting, and hands-on technical guidanceRequirementsTechnical SkillsAdvanced expertise in Python, with hands-on experience in static code analysis, automated testing, and production-grade developmentSolid knowledge of JavaScript, ideally with experience in React.js or similar frameworksExperience working in regulated environments, with strong familiarity with FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304standardsProficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks like PyTest, Jest, or equivalentsComfortable working across embedded systems, cloud infrastructure, and software-hardware interfacesPersonal AttributesHands-on and pragmatic, with a strong technical foundation and leadership mindsetExcellent communicator, able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholdersOrganized, proactive, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environmentPassionate about building impactful technology in a multidisciplinary settingEducation And ExperienceEngineering degree or equivalent in computer science, software engineering, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of experience leading software teams in demanding environments, ideally in MedTech, robotics, or regulated industriesBenefitsA Mission That Matters: Join a team developing life-changing technology.
