This role is central to ensuring that all solar energy systems deployed across our operations are technically sound, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with our quality and performance standards.This is a field-based role, ideal for someone who thrives outside the office and is passionate about bringing clean energy solutions directly to communities across Haiti. You will work closely with the Custom Projects Manager and field supervisors / engineering teams to translate designs into executable plans, ensure quality implementation, and troubleshoot issues when needed.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and document solar PV energy systems tailored to specific site and customer needs.Conduct site assessments and produce technical layouts, schematics, and equipment specifications.Collaborate with the installation lead to ensure correct interpretation and execution of system designs.Participate in commissioning, troubleshooting, and post-installation performance evaluations.Uphold and help evolve Solengy’s Quality of Service (QoS) standards across projects.Provide regular technical feedback to senior management on project risks and performance.Support continuous improvement in system design templates, installation protocols, and documentation.QualificationsDegree or advanced certifications in Solar, Electrical or Electromechanical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of experience designing and supporting implementation of large scale (> 200 kWp.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and technical plansAdvanced proficiency in Solar Design Software (e.g. HOMER Pro, PVSOL, PVsyst, etc.)Strong knowledge of PV system components (solar panels, inverters, Lithium batteries, hybrid integration)Experience conducting field site visits, system sizing, and installation supportLanguages | Additional QualificationsFluency required in: English, (French, Haitian Creole, Spanish are a strong plus)Strong collaboration and coordination skills; able to work across office and field-based teamsDetail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable balancing field realities with design expectationsFlexible, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownershipWork Environment & TravelThis role is expected to be Haiti-based approximately 60% of the time. Regular travel is required, including visits to remote or underserved areas.The Solar Engineer must be comfortable working on active job sites, conducting site assessments, and providing hands-on technical support in the field.
