This person must be a hands-on, self-starter who loves solving innovative problems in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will have the insight to connect a specific business problem and Snowflake’s solution and communicate that connection and vision to various technical and executive audiences.The person we’re looking for shares our passion about reinventing the data platform and thrives in the dynamic environment. It means keeping up to date on the ever-evolving technologies for data and analytics in order to be an authoritative resource for Snowflake, System Integrators and customers. And it means working collaboratively with a broad range of people both inside and outside the company.AS A SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:Be a technical expert on all aspects of SnowflakeGuide customers through the process of migrating to Snowflake and develop methodologies to improve the migration processDeploy Snowflake following best practices, including ensuring knowledge transfer so that customers are properly enabled and are able to extend the capabilities of Snowflake on their ownWork hands-on with customers to demonstrate and communicate implementation best practices on Snowflake technologyMaintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to themWork with System Integrator consultants at a deep technical level to successfully position and deploy Snowflake in customer environmentsProvide guidance on how to resolve customer-specific technical challengesSupport other members of the Professional Services team develop their expertiseCollaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that’s all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.The Solution Engineer will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, and will be responsible for providing technical expertise to make Snowflake customers successful. The Solution Engineer will have a broad range of skills and experience ranging from data architecture to ETL/ELT, data science, security, performance analysis, analytics, etc. You will have the insight to make the connection between a customer’s specific business problems and Snowflake’s solution, the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, and the technical skills to be able to not only build demos and execute proof-of-concepts but also to provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation.The Solution Engineer has the willingness to jump in and do what it takes to make Snowflake and our customers successful. It means keeping up to date on the ever-evolving technologies for data and analytics in order to be an authoritative resource for both Snowflake and customers. You will work collaboratively with a broad range of people, both inside and outside the company.RESPONSIBILITIES:Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customersWork hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementationMaintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to themCollaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketingBe an advocate and develop mutual trust with the technical audience on the customer sideMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 10-12 years of experience working in customer facing Solution Engineering (tech pre-sales) roleStrong competency on modern data stacks, ETL/ELT, data warehouse/lake, data science and data appsOutstanding skills presenting to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demosHands-on expertise with SQL and PythonSTRONGLY DESIRED:Data Science knowledge and experienceUniversity degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experienceSoftware development experience with Java, Spark and other scripting languagesExtensive knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology (e.g. Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, Hadoop etc.) and cloud data platformsExperience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling eventsSound understanding and experience in the Malaysian market and technology ecosystemADDED BONUS FOR:Strong Data Science/AI/ML experience across a variety of platformsFamiliarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Metabase etc)Cloud Provider Experience - Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google CloudExperience using AWS or Azure native services such as AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS SageMaker or Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Database Migration ServicesOLAP Data modeling and data architecture experienceExperience in Cloud security & Malaysia risk management framework: e.g. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Risk Management in Technology (RMiT)Experience selling enterprise SaaS softwareProven success at enterprise software start-upsSnowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth.
