Job Description
Job Purpose:Ensures the availability of equipment spare parts, options, and consumables based on forecast, backlog, and run rate — avoiding excess inventory — to provide internal and external customers with the highest level of service. Oversees and supports maintenance activities in compliance with technical standards, safety, and environmental regulations, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.Principal Accountabilities:Policies, Processes & ProceduresAdhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment.Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to safeguard employees and company assets.Daily OperationsPerform day-to-day activities to ensure workflow continuity and efficiency.Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.Assist in preparing timely and accurate reports aligned with company policies and standards.Spare Parts PlanningSupervise spare parts forecasting and assess requirements against planning assumptions.Monitor and report on the availability of spare parts, options, and consumables based on operational needs and backlog.Place purchase orders within agreed cost, lead time, and stock parameters.Track and expedite inbound spare parts deliveries, resolving any discrepancies or delays.Maintain an accurate and effective inventory control system, including regular physical inventory checks.Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and equipment uptime.Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and statistical analyses on parts forecasts, consumption, and shortages.Support in developing annual departmental goals and budgets aligned with company objectives.People Supervision & DevelopmentSupervise and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and development opportunities.Support talent development through training, mentoring, and succession planning.Promote continuous improvement in team performance, systems, and processes to align with best practices and evolving business needs.Self-ManagementSet and monitor performance goals in coordination with the reporting manager.Identify personal development needs and pursue learning opportunities beyond formal training.Stay updated with professional advancements, new technologies, and industry trends.Miscellaneous DutiesPerform additional tasks as required to support departmental and organizational objectives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.Technical certifications in Equipment Planning are an advantage.Years of Experience:Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in equipment spare parts planning within the construction or heavy equipment industry.
