JOB PROFILE SUMMARYCVs SHOULD BE SAVED IN APPLICANT’S NAMEDivision: Risk & ComplianceDepartment: Compliance & EthicsLocation: AccraPosition: Specialist, Data Privacy & Protection (Technology & Support) Level: L2Reports to: Manager, Data Privacy & ProtectionJob Summary:Responsible for providing expert advice on activities related to the implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to, personal data in compliance with relevant laws, telecoms regulations and the organization’s data privacy practices specifically for the technical and support functions.TasksSupport the implementation of data privacy policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with applicable laws such as the Ghana Data Protection Act 2012 Act 843.Maintain the company’s data inventory and data flow maps, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of personal data processing, analysing system architecture, and leveraging data discovery or classification tools to ensure accurate mapping of personal data processing for the technical and support functions.Conduct and document Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for projects, systems, and services that involve personal data for the technical and support functions.Monitor compliance with internal data protection policies and external regulations, and report on potential risks or breaches.Process and track data subject requests (DSRs) such as access, rectification, and erasure, ensuring responses meet regulatory timelines.Conduct Transfer Risk Assessments, Third Party Risk Assessments and other related privacy compliance audits and assessments, including reviewing API documentation, system interfaces, vendor technical controls, hosting environments, and evidence of data protection measures.Collaborate with the technical and support divisions to ensure data privacy requirements are embedded in business processes, system designs, integrations, workflows, and new technology deployments.Review all system-related information security plans throughout the organization’s network to ensure alignment between data privacy and protection practices.Stay updated on data protection laws and industry practices and share relevant developments with the Compliance team.Contribute to cross-functional privacy projects and working groups, providing insights and operational support as needed.Support data protection incident response activities by assisting with log analysis, system-related investigations, data tracing, impact assessments, and documentation for potential data breaches. Maintain documentation of privacy compliance efforts, including training records, risk assessments, and audit logs. Support privacy awareness and training initiatives, helping to promote a data protection culture across the organisationPrepare reports and dashboards on data privacy KPIs, risks, and compliance activities. Assist in implementing technical and organizational measures to safeguard personal data throughout its lifecycle.
