SQL Database Administrator

Our Dublin based client are looking for a SQL Server Specialist to join their team in a new daily rate contract positionLooking for a person who has strong skills on upgrading and migration of data with a high level of SQL knowledgeThis position is an initial 6 month contract with views to extend beyond thatThis role involves the upgrade of existing SQL Server infrastructure along with designing and implementing high availability architectures for both SQL servers and data gateways in a complex and significant production environmentResponsibilitiesLeading on end-to-end SQL Server upgrade projectsLeading on assessment all the way to production cutoverAssessment of the current SQL Server environment and document all dependenciesDesigning of high level architecture for SQL Server environments based on business requirementsDesign excellent and high level solutions for data gateway infrastructureDevelop migration plans with risk strategies and rollback proceduresConfigure new SQL Server environments with Always On Availability GroupsConfigure SSISDB within AG to include for encryption key managementMigration of large databases with minimal downtime using appropriate synchronization methodsMigrate and test SSIS packages, including those with PowerShell scripts and SFTP integrationsUpgrade and configure data gateway servers for high availabilityCoordinate connection updates across Logic Apps, applications, and data feedsExperience required SQL Server Major Version UpgradesLead on production upgrades across major SQL Server versions (2012/2014/2016 to 2019/2022 or similar)Designed and implement high availability solutions for SQL Server from the ground upBe capable of being part of Architecture decisionsConfiguring SSISDB for use in Availability GroupsComplex Migration PlanningCreate migration strategies that minimize downtimeSQL Agent Job Management - Synchronized and managed Agent jobs across AG replicasSSIS Package Migration across SQL Server versionsExperience working with mission-critical databases supporting multiple applications and integrationsHOW TO APPLY:To apply for this role, please submit your updated CV.
