Sr Field Service Engineer

Advising on data networks, navigation systems, acoustics, acoustic data processing subsystem, and towed array systems Providing training on navigation systems, acoustic data processing subsystem, and towed array systems to J-AOS personnel Submitting required reports in accordance with the SURTASS SOP, and other directives Serving as a liaison with the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF), Kure Repair and Supply Facility (K-RSF), and the Kure Array Maintenance Facility (AMF), in conjunction with Commander Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ), to help resolve repair and supply issues FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING Requirements Associate's degree in computer science, electronics technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics “C” school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system Must have experience as a SURTASS O&M Technician crew member DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 months Fluent in speaking, writing, and reading Japanese Desired Skills None Clearance Information SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL Travel Requirements Requires travel/underway periods of up to 120 days at a time About UsScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
