Job Description

Your RoleTo manage the day-to-day operational aspects of complex NPI projects ($5-10M+) to ensure that they are delivered according to agreed specifications, timescales and budgets and that company procedures are followed in the execution of these projects.To lead and co-ordinate a high performing multidisciplinary project team (10-20+) to deliver project requirements on time and to budget which have been communicated and agreed by the Programme Manager.To develop cross-functional Plans to meet project deliverables both technical and commercial.To keep project progress and risks visible to project sponsors, programme management and divisional senior management.To escalate breach of tolerance, progress roadblocks and project risks when necessary to agree appropriate higher-level mitigation.Main DutiesEnsure the project meets its performance and timescale objectives as defined by the Master Specification.Create cross-functional project plan encompassing all the tasks required to deliver the project in adherence to the product commercialisation process (PCP).Plan projects and agree timescale with the Programme Manager.Ensure all the required resource and skills are made available to deliver the project and its milestones and ensure adherence to agreed dates.Highlight resource and/or planning issues in advance to Programme Manager.Lead the Project team’s activities through a centrally visibly plan, regularly reporting progress, dealing with exceptions, and escalating as appropriate.Ensure that the project plan is monitored any deviance is mitigated by immediate intervention or is escalated to Programme Manager.Identify risks to the project, their management and production of mitigation plans.Ensure all projects follow and are documented via the businesses gated process.Ensuring upcoming gate reviews are, planned and undertaken on time and to a high level of quality.Ensure a robust and consistent working practice is in place for each of your allocated projectsProvide direction and support to all team members, leading and facilitating delivery of the project(s).Oversee the team’s workload / activities, ensuring correct prioritisation and delivery of milestones in a fast paced and complex environment.Allocate the work and track resource utilisation levels across the team.Ensure all communications are clear and concise.Define, update, track and report on project performance.Support independent project peer reviews. Ensure engineering project related non-conformances are actioned in timely manner.Preparation & organisation of project deliverables for all stage gates.Chair Project Team Meeting and provide highlight report to Programme Manager on a weekly basis.Present Project Progress to site and divisional stakeholders monthly.Forge close links with Product Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations and Service to ensure requirements for launch plans, serviceability, maintenance, and any other concerns are fully understood and fed back to the project team.Ensure engineering information are delivered in a timely manner to allow creation of Spare parts, Spare manuals, Product Manuals, Installation Manuals and Maintenance Manuals.Continuously find ways to improve communication within the project team and ensure all parties feel supported.Ensure stakeholders are engaged at all time. Preferably Prince 2, APM certified or equivalent.Professional Skills/Abilities5 years involvement in the process of product development in a high technology environment, with 3 years’ experience in a Project Management capacity.Experience and understanding of a project compliance/methodology.A proven ability to manage complex projects – a strong understanding of delivering products on time, to specification and on budget.A proven ability to generate resource plans and drive schedule adherence whilst maintaining the flexibility required to react to rapidly changing customer and company needsTechnical/commercial awareness to make appropriate decisions balancing potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.Excellent IT literacy, being a competent user of MS office.
